Have you ever gone on scratch and seen this on the scratch news?

It should look like this:

The reason that the images won't show up is because they are hosted on tumblr

so my suggestion is to change the host to a Scratch based one, such as cdn.scratch.mit.edu / cdn2.scratch.mit.edu or assets.scratch.mit.edu
also this suggestion is important because tumblr is a place with 18+ content and shouldn't be linked on scratch

Support. A fair share of people who go on scratch are using a school laptop, and oftentimes they might be curious about the weird paper symbol on the left, and wondering if it is hiding something important. Also, the photos are a nice little detail on the front page and it is rather decorative, so it should be viewable for all people, not just those who don't have blocked things.

Could be, but then a large portion of their userbase (including me) can't even see them, so what's the point?

user uploaded images definitely cost way more to store than the few front page images that are not that large

I doubt it's because tumblr. It likely because tumblr is down.

FYI - I tested this on my school device (where tumblr is blocked!) and the images still show up.

I think your school device has less protection things. My school has more protection things, I know it’s not because of my family’s new router, it’s my school, I had a problem with the laptop where it went into “bitlocker Recovery” mode for some reason (we talked it out with tech support), which lead to things (such as nameMC and other websites including tumblr’s media service) to be blocked from the laptop.

It's basically just 3 images? That's nothing in comparison to the amount of assets uploaded to Scratch every day.

Support, this would improve the front page on school computers, and Scratch is used in many classrooms.

I don't think think it would be a big issue, especially because it's only three , small images. Anyway, we have the text.
