I can’t upload webp files, so should we have scratch support them for once?
If you say “no support”, I’m fine with that.
I’m not asking for support.
Thank you!

Is webp a webpage? If so, I don't think Scratch should support that, as the content should be made on Scratch.

definitely support. i sometimes download images and have to convert them to pngs or jpgs just so scratch allows them. it’s not the most annoying thing, but it would make life so much easier.

Bump.
Support, I know when you download a webp file you can just make it png or something, but this would make it more easier.

It’s a format, there’s this one website that converts it to that, and there is a view original button to get the original format, but it’s annoying when you forget to click that or you realize that the file itself is in that format so even if you click view original it doesn’t work. Is webp a webpage? If so, I don't think Scratch should support that, as the content should be made on Scratch.

support, when I like 8 y/o and I was using scratch, I kept downloading the same image over and over and over again because when I try to upload it, it doesn't show and I thought it was a bug but I didn't notice that the image was a webp. So then when I opened the file editor, I had like 17 of the same image… This could definitely clear some confusion among people who are not that good at computers.

Webp is hiding everywhere. You can never truly be sure if a file is webp. Even images that end with “.png” can be a webp file (I'm not lying, this has happened to me).

Support for the reasons stated above, however, in the meantime, we can still use Zamzar.
