Blue messages are associated with curatorship and promotion. (Positive)
Red messages are associated with reporting and disrespectful words in a comment. (Negative)
However, Alerts (usually warnings) are highlighted blue. Blue has a positive connotation, so it sends a mixed message.
Simply put, Alerts should be color coded to match the message it connotes with. Alerts about a warning issued should be in a red box, while other alerts like becoming front-page curator should be in a blue box.

Cool! What colour do you think my idea for “Important” messages should be then? But great idea, full support!

Greez.
Red means bad. Blue means good. So reports shouldn't be blue.

Red for warnings from the ST, grey for messages from the ST, blue for comments, green for studio invites/activity, orange for forums. And as a bonus, yellow for front pages, features, loves, faves, etc.

I apoyo these colors, but sadly you don't get front-page alerts to my knowledge. Red for warnings from the ST, grey for messages from the ST, blue for comments, green for studio invites/activity, orange for forums. And as a bonus, yellow for front pages, features, loves, faves, etc.

I like it except for the fact that I think grey and yellow might be a bit hard to see.

-0.25 support. Not all negative ST alerts are that serious, and red would just be straight-out intimidating.

I'm indifferent, leaning towards no support. Complicated reasoning based on the above posts.

The jumpscare of a red alert might be a bit much.
However, I would support on ones where they're red because you did something mean to another Scratcher or shared something inappropriate, because a lot of people just ignore them. Perhaps it could be red if you already have one of these type of alerts in your inbox. Not for ones that come if you report something wrongly. Also, there are neutral alerts, which I think could be grey. (I got one where I reported something and they asked for more info.

Okay, how about only the most serious of warnings should be red, and minor alerts for petty violations should be yellow. Scratch Curator approval could be green or blue… -0.25 support. Not all negative ST alerts are that serious, and red would just be straight-out intimidating.
