Whoa! Sorry to hear you hate the Scratch team. Please feel free to give feedback in this thread on the update, http://scratch.mit.edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/topic/53108/.

Haha! Glad to hear of another update. Yet I'm still using 1.4. Oh well, what can I say? I love 1.4 too much!

By the editor, do you mean the offline editor? I read the post as if it was the online one, which was confusing.

I'm glad to see the follower and comments count gone. I can be a pretty competitive person, as much as I wish I wasn't, so hopefully getting rid of the numbers will focus my attention away from it and put me at ease.

Did you remove the “remixes” section of projects? I think that without that, people will not view remixes as much because the remix tree button is on the corner of the projects and not noticable I'd recommend adding that section back, but ordering from most recently shared at the top.

Am I the only one who is annoyed at this change?

COMMENTS FROM PROFILE PAGE!!!? This was completely unnecessary and a worthless change. GRRR!!! ):< I feel like you're shielding us from information because you're afraid that “oh no scratchers will compete. We better make everything on the site so limiting that they're restricted to only programming and staying in a little corner with absolutely no information to absorb.”

WHYYYYYY!!!? Sorry about the annoyance and forcefulness of my post, but this is really, REALLY making me mad right now.

I KIND of aggree with you. It would be nice to know all that, and just tell people not to compete. What about those of us who have projects celebrating/saying thanks to our followers? If someone's jealous, then they either need to put more effort, or try harder in their projects. There's no reason to get jealous. At all.

Yay! Updates !

I think the no follower # is a great idea- hopefully it will cut down on the whole follow for follow scheme and help people focus on actual projects and creativity instead of a number on a screen.

In the next update please do it so there is no way to see the exact because it still shows the exact when you click“View all”.

No, no, no! I strongly disagree with this! See my first post in the other announcements forum to see why.

Smart move removing the followers/following/comments count. Now Scratch can focus better on Imagining, Programming and Sharing!

Was it neccessary to remove the profile comment count? I can't remember anybody who bragged about how many comments their profile had, or did “comment for comment”

Also, there is a small typo. I think you meant

Projects from deleted Studios won't appear in ‘Studios I am follow row’

Instead of

Projects from deleted Studios won't appear i ‘Studios I am follow row’

First of all, a big thanks to everyone on the Scratch Team. It is an AWESOME creative and social learning tool. We love it and thank you very much.

Removing useful features is rarely a good idea. I understand why it was done, but this could become a slippery slope. Where does it end? “Oh, we know everyone loves featureXYZ, but a couple of us decided we don't like featureXYZ, so we're taking that out next.”

Scratch is one part creativity one part community and there's nothing wrong with those who are motivated by his or her follower count or those who want to have as many followers as possible. Some types of people enjoy this and it is a good primer for the real world. An individual may write the best apps on the planet, but if no one knows, it doesn't matter - it doesn't make an impact.

Scratch can help kids learn how to program and learn how to connect with others. Removing features that are enjoyed by a certain type of young mind could also send an unintended message - that they are doing something wrong, when they are not. Let's keep Scratch strong by adding features, not subtracting. Thanks for reading my opinion.

This backwards compatibility may be breaking my upcoming game! Now my stamps don't have any effects applied to them (this was a problem in some earlier updates, too) which gets annoying. The option to switch between Scratch 1.4 stamping (stamp with no effects applied) and Scratch 2.0 stamping (keep effects while stamping) modes would be good.
