Hello everyone! In this topic you can find some frequently asked questions on the Scratch Welcoming Committee. If your question isn't listed below, feel free to leave a post in this topic with your question!

Please note, in this thread SWC stands for Scratch Welcoming Committee

Question 1: How do I get my project added?
The project you made should meet all of the requirements listed here. After it meets all of the listed requirements, it can be added to the project submissions studio. Then, a SWC reviewer or curator will review your project to make sure it meets those requirements, and then add it to the main SWC studio, or the completed projects studio. If your project does meet all of the requirements, it will be added to the main welcoming committee studio or the completed projects studio (if it's added to the completed projects studio, that means that the user that reviewed your project can't add it to the welcoming committee themselves, but it will be added soon). If your project doesn't meet the requirements, you will be told what you need to add and the project will be removed from the submissions studio. You can then add it back when it meets the requirements, Remember you must have the Scratcher status to join the welcoming committee. Information on what a Scratcher is can be found here. Also remember that creating a project for the SWC will not get you invited to curate, and we limit one per person.

Question 2: What if I want to opt out?
To opt out, simply remove your project from the main studio. You can do this by pressing the “Add to Studio” button on the project page of your project, and then press the option that says “Scratch Welcoming Committee” in green. If this does not work, contact a welcoming committee curator.

Question 3: When are you going to review my project?
We currently have a large backlog, so it will take a while for us to get to your project. Curators and reviewers also aren't always on Scratch, and can be busy in real life. While you wait, make sure your project meets the requierments.

Question 4: Can I curate?
Scratch Welcoming Committee curators are not chosen on request and are chosen by current curators and the Scratch Team. If you are seen helping around the community or you are an active reviewer, you may get chosen to curate. For more information, see this project.

Question 5: What are SWC Reviewers?
SWC Reviewers are users that help review projects in the submissions studio. They don't get invited to curate the main studio, but still help with reviewing.

Question 6: How can I help and become a SWC reviewer?
We would really appreciate your help! We don't invite SWC reviewers right away, but you can follow the steps in this guide if you are interested in helping and becoming a reviewer.

This link won't work for most Scratchers, but I can confirm that this topic was approved by a Scratch Team member and therefore it is acceptable for the Questions about Scratch forum (despite the ongoing guide moratorium).

This was approved because the SWC Curators thought it would be nice to have a place where the community could find answers to questions and so we could get a sense on what other questions were commonly asked, and feedback the community may have.

Hi, I made a project a while ago, and due to personal issues, all the projects in my account were taken down. Is it possible that the duplicate project I made could be re-added?

it would be good if you used ‘contact us’ or made a separate topic, but if your project appears in your my stuff tab maybe you could share it again…?

2 projects are enough
Also try to be active in the community for a few weeks, and you can become a Scratcher

Hi! I'm not a new scratcher (I've been on here a couple of years now) but I want to be on the commitee to welcome people to scratch not other people welcoming me. So can I be a mamager or a curator please?

As stated in the SWC studio description, they are not looking for curators at the moment. However, you are always welcome to join the welcoming committee by submitting a welcoming project to this studio: https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/studios/4276585
