Make a time rule for inviting users to your studio

I personally don't mind that the followers bar in the curators section was removed, as I am generally very selective about adding people to participate. By that, I mean I don't feel like simultaneously sending invites to dozens of people every day, I would prefer seeing if people want to join in the comments and adding people if I would like them to work together in the studio. That's why I'm suggesting a rule for how often you can add people to your studios.

This feature is actually already in place, but I think it's something like hundreds per few hours, so I suggest potentially lowering it to help to 1. protect studios from straight away getting all crowded and hard to manage and 2. make it harder to spam invite notifications to large numbers of users.

My idea is 10 per day 10 per few hours.

I do know that this change could potentially put modern fan clubs or invite everyone studios at a partial standstill, but it's more difficult to make it work for them.

Feel free to tell me if you think my idea could be adjusted, as I haven't spent as much time in studios as many other users. Maybe the number of users you can add should be different than my proposal, or maybe this should instead be an option that the host of each studio can set themselves, to choose how restrictive they want to be.

Uh… no support. If this was implemented, it would take me four days just to invite all my followers to a studio. And if griffpatch wanted to invite all his followers, it would take 68 and a half years. Surely you don't want to spend weeks inviting your followers to a studio. It should definitely by higher, 50-100 per day at the least.

I personally would want it to be 100 followers per day instead of 10. 10 is too little.

10 is way to small. If I wanted to invite all my followers, I'd have to spend almost a entire year doing so. Now that manager's powers are heavily limited, only allowing 10 per day would be too less.

NO SUPPORT!!!
It is too little! How can I invite just all my friends, not even all followers?

100 would be a decent one, as we could still invite our friends, but we couldn't get spam invites.

They can only make 1 message (yes on multi account but…) because “ExampleUser has already been invited!!!!!!!” unless they spam studios (and probably delete the old one ) so no support

Perhaps it would be better if the limit was not per day but per hour. I think more than that would be a little too restrictive.

Honestly, support, as long as it's per account, per studio. A lot of people are making drastic examples of this (why would Griffpatch invite all his followers to a single studio?). Ad studios in which it's a single project where they invite all their followers were INTENTIONALLY stopped by the Studio Update eugh and a lot of people disliked them anyways. Inviting all your friends can be worked around because you'll probably promote them to managers, and managers can still invite other people, so you would need at least 200 friends based off an estimation in order for everyone to reach the limit here.
I found this topic through D_ScratchNinja's post here.

You can still add people, and you can always ask managers to add them for you once you've reached your limit, so it just reduces studios that some people may find annoying by making them more difficult for the better.

I do agree that everyone should have separate limits so you could have multiple people help you send invitations.

Make sure that the OP contains some specifiers, including reasons why the disclaimers aren't that bad, defense against the reasons for no support, etc. because a lot of people don't read the later posts and therefore don't have the most constructive posts, repeating previous ones over and over again.

alts goes brrrrr

This would be problematic for event studios tho, if I wanted to host, lets say, a secret santa, I would already have most people I want to invite in mind, and would therefore send them in 1 (atmost 2) sittings, this would force me to split that time up, and although thats not a HUGE problem, it could lead to problems including drama caused by people going “I thought u said I was apart of this why did u not invite me its literally been 8 days”, or “who was I supposed to invite again?”

But in this case, why do you need them to join the studio? Being a curator means that you can add projects, it doesn't stop you from participating in the event through the comments.

The Scratch Team doesn't add suggestions based on the number of supports there are, so sadly it doesn't really matter.

But anyway, the conversation's main points were these:

blablablahello wrote:

I can still add as many people as I want simply with the use of alts

blablablahello wrote:

this suggestion wont prevent bad spammers, since if they want to, they are the only people who woould be dedicated enough to create alts or even bots to do studio spam
I think they only earned partial credit. One thing that they missed is the average Scratcher won't go through the trouble of inviting people with alts or creating bots. So thanks to this suggestion, most people won't be able to spam. Of course, you can't do much against actual spammers, but why would they spam with studio invites when there are easier ways to spam (like comments)?

ig, but people do like to invite others as curators to show that they are apart of whatever you are doing

That is true, but only for short terms, if the change is permanent, I can see people soon developing stuff like chrome extensions for “easy studio adding”, and who would be the ones using/making these? most definitly the people causing the spam in the first place

However, this would still prevent a relatively big part of the spam, it really just depends on how much of the scratch community that already uses studios alot would go this far to keep using them like this
