Studio Updates FAQ
I am going to lose several brain cells reading some of these replies
Ok, this came out of nowhere. I really don't like this update, and I'm sure tons of people agree. The 25 message limit is really stupid. I also cannot figure out how to add curators from my follower list, like it was before. The worst part about this was the lack of heads up and communication with the community about this update.
I agree. I only found out about the update just yesterday. Roleplaying studios are going to be a disaster after this update and the RP I’m currently in is going to make it extremely difficult for the studio creator to manage everything, especially since the other managers were there to help out and they were trusted not to mess it up.
I totally agree. I left for a few minutes and came back and I was totally confused

Same. The new design doesn't trigger claustrophobia; it's just… too big for mobile users like me (I am on my iPad 90% of the time now) And I also believe the 25 reply limit is too small. Also, on gitHub, you said it was to “improve moderation”, and this just defeats the purpouse.i completely agree with this. Ok, this came out of nowhere. while i like the more modern design of the studios, everything is way too big and it somewhat triggers my claustrophobia. i would argue that a togglable mobile version would be much more efficient, with a computer version that would have… less scarily huge elements.
and also, like octo_terra said, the 25 message limit feels too small. for Scratchers trying to have a large conversation that may take longer than 25 comments, they would have to make new comments once they reached the limit. the problem with this is that if they were a particularly active group, multiple people might make comments and the conversation would be split up. isn't that the exact reason we're encouraged to link duplicates on the forums? so the discussion all stays in one place?
you could, of course, say that a studio perhaps wouldn't be the best place to start long conversations. the problem is that there might not be an appropriate forum to post them in, not everyone involved in the conversation would have access to other sites either. and continuing the discussion on a project or profile would cause one person to get flooded with messages.
perhaps i could propose a couple of these things in suggestions instead, since they're likely going to be ignored and brushed over here. i just thought it would be beneficial for at least some people to see my viewpoint and hear what i had to say.
I agree too, with studios being the right place to have constructive conversations, because new forum users may not know where to post their topic - I've seen too many collab topics in requests…

Studio Updates FAQ
You claim the comment limit is to include new people, but now none of the people in the community who like to rp here can use comments anymore. This honestly just made it worst. Now nobody can rp in studios because it's impossible to have a comment thread that only goes up to 25. Any you may use the excuse to just make another comment thread, but there's the unfortunate problem of the fact that trying to figure out which thread was a continuation of which is almost impossible. RPing is how I met most of the community, and now newer people cannot have that same privilege.

Studio Updates FAQ
The new update Is pretty great, but the words are too big. Hi folks,
We wanted to include a space to address some frequently asked questions for the new studio updates. You can learn more about the studio update here.
I am a “New Scratcher” - how do I create a studio?
To create a studio you will need to have “Scratcher” status. See here to learn more about what this means.
I am a manager - why can’t I edit studio descriptions?
Only studio owners have the ability to edit studio descriptions. Over the years, we have heard from many of you that allowing managers to make major changes to studios has made it harder to manage and run a successful studio. This change is intended to give studio owners more creative control over their spaces.
What happens if an owner is no longer active in a studio?
If you are a curator or manager, you can still add projects to a studio, and everyone can continue conversations in the comments. If you would like to make changes to a studio description, title, or thumbnail, only the studio owner can do this. But, you are always welcome to create a new studio!
I want other managers to edit the description, what do I do?
Over the years, we have heard from many of you that allowing managers to make major changes to studios has made it harder to manage and run a successful studio. As a way to address this, studio owners will now be the only people allowed to edit studio descriptions, titles, and thumbnails, which will prevent others from changing or destroying the work you have done in your studios, such as managers defacing the studio description or using it as a space for chatting.
Why is there a limit on the number of managers to a studio?
This change is intended to address a few issues: it will reduce the number of spammy studios, encourage studio owners and managers to be more intentional when promoting curators, and further limit the amount of people who can make major changes to studios.
My studio already has more than 40 managers - what will happen to my studio? Will some managers be automatically removed?
Don’t worry, your studio is still there and so are all the managers! Studios that already have more than 40 managers will continue to have those managers. If you want to add new managers to that studio in the future, though, you will need to remove some of your existing managers until you are below the limit of 40. Once you are below that limit, you can promote a new curator to manager.
Why is there a limit on the number of replies in a comment thread?
Limiting comment threads helps enhance site performance, and prevents long but still active threads from being buried where few people will see new activity. As Scratch continues to grow, it is important to us to continue exploring ways in which we can help keep Scratch running smoothly, safely, and quickly for everyone who uses it. It is our hope that these changes will help do just that! Once a comment thread has reached its limit, you are welcome to start a new thread to continue the conversation.
Where can I provide suggestions or report bugs for studios?
If you would like to provide constructive ideas for the future of studios on Scratch, you are welcome to share them in the Suggestions forum section. If you found a bug or glitch with the new studio update, please share that with us in the Bugs and Glitches forum section.
Scratch On!

Who here feels like crying?
I just realized that SWC is going to be behind on adding points in EVERYTHING.

Not just that, but the RP community is gonna suffer due to the comment limit. I personally like the old look better. And what will happen to manager chats? Those were personal things for close friends. What is the rp community going to do? Managers have to help add roleplay characters. That puts a burden on the owner of the rp.
Next time, can you make a poll or something? Please?

Are you kidding me…? I'm in a studio with a completely inactive owner, now no one can edit the description anymore. Great.

What about the comment limit? Why did we need a cap at 25?! Why did you hurt all the other studios by not letting all managers edit the desc? The only studios that got raided from this were studio that made everyone manager. What about active studios that don't have an active owner? Not everyone can move to a new studio. Can't their be an option like “trust” and you can let those managers edit the desc? Why did you make it where you can't see a studio followers past 100? Why does the activity only show adding projects? I think a speak for a lot of scratch when I say there was nothing wrong with the old studios and we want them back.
No hard feelings, Jojo.

I don't believe that the ST correctly assessed what the community was wanting. Everything except for the manager permissions change was fine, for the most part. This doesn't actually benefit studios.

im kinda ok with this update
the only problem is that manager chats dont work anymore,
and the fact that you can have a limited amount of replies
plus, it feels useless to be a manager, since you only have a few options.
