Scratch Offline Editor PWA

Turbowarp has this feature, and it's useful for people that can't access the play store on their school chromebooks.

if they're using a school chromebook and the play store is blocked it's for a reason, they shouldn't be working around it by downloading files instead.

Bump, support. This could be useful for when you lack internet but need to code something(I definitely have this issue)

The only problem with PWAs is that they aren't (officially) supported on FireFox to any extent. But Mozilla should really fix that issue as it makes some developer's lives pain.

Most people that can't install the offline editor are Chromebook users, and Chrome does have PWA support. However, it would be nice to be officially able to use PWAs in Firefox (yes, there is an unofficial method, however it requires installing browser extensions)

This would probably even also work as a replacement for the actual Scratch desktop app.

No support. Schools already allow scratch's playstore offline editor or at least my school has scratch's offline editor on its play store whitelist

Do you mean just adding a shortcut to the tool bar? You can do this by clicking the 3 dots in Chrome, then “More Tools”, then “Create Shortcut…”

No, progressive web apps behave more like native apps and can be used offline. A shortcut would just open the browser to the page.

I see, does TurboWarp automatically download itself to the device, and if it does, then how?

Some schools do. Also, this is different from the Play Store. here are a few details about it.
Another issue is that Scratch isn’t on iOS, a much larger OS in terms of education. However, generally, from what i know, a PWA could be installed on an iOS device, given that its using a browser that allows them.
(To clarify, I’m currently on an iPad. Its what my school issued. School Wi-Fi is also quite unreliable at times.)

Just a question, how can I download TurboWarp as something I can launch with an index.html file? I know I'm able to on this directory for vanilla Scratch: https://github.com/LLK/scratch-gui/tree/gh-pages/develop but there isn't a gh-pages tree in the TurboWarp GUI repo.

It's a children's coding program…
