Add option for CMD + B, I & U in the Forums.

So recently I started using a Mac, and I realised that to make text bold you have to use “Control” and then “B”, but in a Mac, making text bold, italic, and underlined is done with “CMD” + “B”, and so on … so why can't the devs add an option for “CMD” as well? Mac users are used to using CMD for almost everything, and using the CTRL key on a Mac is a bit of a hassle when people are used to CMD + B for bold, CMD + U for underline, CMD + I for italics.

⌘ B
⌘ I
⌘ U

Instead of

⌃ B
⌃ I
⌃ U

edit - can Windows users see these emojis?

Those control shorcuts exist? Support, would be useful for compatibility

The control key on Mac keyboards is not in an inconvenient spot to press, so I don't know what the big deal is.

Most other programs have them use command instead of control.

So? I mainly use Ctrl in commands, should I need to use the Alt key ever because of that?

I know what you're trying to say but I haven't ever seen a case of a mac user needing to use control (apart from this). And even if you show me one, the fact that I didn't see it in any other places shows just how rare it is.

If Mac users never need to use Ctrl then when would the key even be included on the keyboard?

Ok I just searched and it's used sort of like right click. So while it might be more common than I thought, this is not what mac users would think of when they press control.

Mac users are the ones spending 13 bennies on a laptop, I think they can push a key on their keyboard that normally does a function another key does.

I don't think the ctrl key on macs will actually do that. It seems to me that the ctrl key on macs is only for right-clicking and will not work like the ctrl key on windows but I didn't look into it too much so I'm not sure. If it is correct that the ctrl key just will not work, then this is a good idea. If this is not correct, then this isn't very useful as mac users can just use the other key.

I am certain it only acts as a right-click if you hold it down and click while doing so, like most laptops with no right-click button.

I think this is a limitation of markitup, the BBCode editor used by the forums.

Well buttons exist for Bold, Italics and underline, so why keep keyboard shortcuts??
The thing is that Mac users are used to CMD B,I & U, so it's quite a hassle to go press the CTRL key while trying to make something bold.

Because it can be used for other reasons, and not for formatting text..

Well then here goes another suggestion due to outdated software

Ok, can a mac user press ctrl + b and tell me if it works or not?

In the Scratch Forums — yes, in Notes, TextEdit and other Apps — no.

Listen — it's annoying when I accidentally press the key I'm used to, and then I have to do it again. It wastes time and this is just a suggestion for a small thing that reduces wastage of time.

Support, I don't see why it shouldn't be added, and it's an important compatibility feature.

I'm on Chromebook and I can see the ⌘, if there are any other emojis then no, otherwise yes (for Chromebooks).
