Several websites are used to make fake emails. This can be used to access any platform with a disposable email.
But this can be used to create accounts, wait 2 weeks and spam the forums. And the situation is worse if they have a VPN installed to hide their IP address. This would also help prevent bot accounts, as bots can simply create several emails on these websites to avoid the captcha.
Another suggestion to prevent botting is making the captcha necessary on the first account creation with an email, but since I can only suggest one thing, I'll leave that for another time.

I think this would be more inconvenient than helpful, people who make other accounts for fun sometimes use disposable mails, I literally just logged in after making an account with 10 minute mail. I don't want to put my main email when I make an account quickly.

People could just make 100 gmail accounts.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Say that someone wanted to join Scratch, but doesn't have an Email Yet. They can just use those website to make a fake email. Do you care about the community or security?

Making a Gmail account isn't some long process, it may take a while but someone would definitely be willing to make 100 Gmail accounts.

Honestly, it'd be impossible to blacklist all of the email addresses. There are tons of websites out there that do this, and they all have different domain names and the like. Banning them is pretty much impossible.

I agree.

If it was like this, the Scratch Team should whitelist the real ones, such as Gmail, Hotmail, or Outlook.

iCloud emails are free.
So are gmail emails.

If you're going to say that they might not be allowed to have an email, then consider this. If a guardian doesn't allow a child to have a real email, what are the chances that they allow a child to go on a strange website and create a fake one?

Also, this all ties back in to caring about the community. Consider the following scenario:

1. Somebody makes a fake email address.
2. They install a VPN IP blocker.
3. They make a Scratch account.
4. They terrorize the community with de*th thre*ts and such.
5. Scratch Team deletes their account, but is unable to block them because they have a fake email and an IP Address Blocker.
6. They repeat step 4 over and over again.

Also, it is probably just as easy (if not easier) to set up a real email as it to set up a fake one.

These can be useful for people who don’t want to give there e Mail adresses out or people who don’t have an email address. I actually kinda think the pros outweigh the cons here, and like Ihatr said, it will be hard to block all.

Because a lot of people use fake emails and this will ban a large part of the community, most of them probably just being 7 year olds who’s parents don’t want to give out there emails.

You can't verify your account with a fake e-mail, that's why the “verify email” thing exists

You can with a temporary email

As easy as this sounds on paper, they both seem to use randomly generated emails, so it would be hard to track what emails are made on those sites…
The best way to do this would be to have the ST email you when you meet the requirements to become a Scratcher, and see if the email service they use tells them that the email doesn't exist.

Absolutely, positively no support.

As said, if you don't have an email, what do you do? I mean every person that uses Scratch at my school (including those taking a class that involves this) have to use Temp-Mail due to us not being able to receive an email.

I will say, a VPN is a different story. This can be used for Ban Evasion.
