Remade Default Icon Idea

So, I decided to remake the default scratch icon out of curiosity, and it actually looked pretty well!
What do y'all think about it?
The icon also hasn't been updated since 2009, so it will need to change sooner or later.

even if this was true, this version is basically the same design as the current one, just higher-quality.

I like it better than the current one and the other proposal. If they change the default icon I would like it changed to this, though maybe a slightly more refined version.

It looks like a high quality version of the one now, and it’s a great mockup. I still like the other suggested one more though as it looks nice on the header and fits scratch 3 more.

Actually, it's slightly different. This uses a gradient on the cat which the other one doesn't, and the other one has the cat blurred while this one doesn't. I think it looks much nicer and sharper for those reasons.

Yeah, I know, I just wanted to specify the main differences early on to show why I like this design. The blurriness and single solid color of the cat in the current version makes it look out of focus, or like the blind spots I get before a migraine.

Ahem, people with that extension? I need a scratch.mit.edu version of the image, as I'm not allowed to access Cubeupload, and it now redirects me to “ERROR 404 Page Not Found”.

@Yickpoo has a higher-quality version of the image in the “New Default Icon” project, but I can't say anything due to Cubeupload (see above).

Thanks! It looks better than the image we have right now, but the cat is just way too big for me. The current icon also is blurry and outdated too. Otherwise, support!

I upscaled it. Duh.
The original did already have some blur/glow if you looked at it closely.

Due to the original design being in favor, the designers of the sprites decided not to use that style (cosmicat).

Sorta random out of context quote but basically the original design is too iconic to change

I am aware, that is why made it closer to the 2009 version than most icons.

I really like the gradient ones (namely the second and fourth ones), but the rest are pretty subpar in my opinion.
