So I am announcing a new series of videos/projects. Now I have to make even more to promote them, nice logic there

I don't recommend you to post images with extensions, it can confuse people.

Anyways, support! It'd be a fun way to meet with the community and do stuff. But isn't Scratch supposed to be a educational site? Maybe Semi-Support.

No, the image is using the 2.0 to 3.0 extension. I'm talking about how the image looks, not the image URL.Who pays that much attention to Image URLs? I don't recommend you to post images with extensions, it can confuse people.

Well that's obviously what it would look it after 3.0 additions. No, the image is using the 2.0 to 3.0 extension. I'm talking about how the image looks, not the image URL.Who pays that much attention to Image URLs? I don't recommend you to post images with extensions, it can confuse people.

I disagree. Users can complain about homework on their profile comments, so why should it be restricted on a profile forum? That's just dumb and makes no sense. Complaining about homework is not targeting anyone in particular (nor even a single school!) as Support, but under a few regulations:everyone deals with homework. I understand there may have to be rules on these profile forums, but really… banning complaining about homework? That's taking restrictions a bit too far. Freedom of speech, jeez.
-snip-
- Users may not state things like “Doing homework….. Ughhh, when will I ever get a break” or “I really dislike this project/user/studio/forum post. Comment or sign my petition if you agree.”, but they may post topics regarding SOSs, like someone harassing them on Scratch (but not personal/family problems, let's not get too far on that.)
And about the second part of this statement: “SOSes”, as you've called it. Well, mentioning someone harrassing them on Scratch would, in fact, be breaking the Community Guidelines! The CGs specifically state:
Don’t try to impersonate other Scratchers, spread rumors, or otherwise try to trick the community.I know this is a pretty broad statement, but I've seen people blocked (albeit temporarily) for “spreading gossip” about other Scratchers.
But about personal/family problems, which you've said should be banned, why would you restrict discussing those?? As long as it fits in with the CGs (so, no talking about su*cide, etc., but then again, that's already banned from comments), it should be allowed. I should be allowed to walk up and make a post that goes something like:
Hey guys. I haven't been feeling too good lately. I got into a fight with my closest friends, and because of that I'm having difficulty concentrating and therefore not doing so well in school. To try and keep my grades & mental health up, I'll be taking a short break from Scratch, maybe two weeks or so. Therefore, my next game, Space Blasters 2, will be postponed for a bit. I hope you understand, and see you in a few weeks!
This obeys the CGs: It doesn't spread gossip (the usernames of the friends were not mentioned), the subject is harmless, and it lets the user's followers know what's going on, therefore providing Scratcher123 with any support their followers might reply with.
This is allowed in comments or projects, so why not profile forums? “Personal problems” should be allowed to be discussed, when they are appropriate; to an extent, yes, but the same rules as comments should apply. (Apart from those photo rules you mentioned, those make sense.)
Thank you for reading.

Yeah, now that I think of it, why does that matter? If they misuse their community messages and people unfollow them, then that's their problem. An occasional complaint about homework or something doesn't sound like that big of a deal to me, especially if homework is making it longer to release your projects. If someone uses their community section like a Twitter feed then I don't see how that's a moderation issue.I disagree. I would love to get notified when, say, griffpatch wants to release a progress report or tutorial or something. I feel like he would make good use of this feature.

Yep, this is true. I think it's up to the person themselves as to how they use their community section, and however that impacts their follower count is also their fault as well. Some users may post updates about their upcoming projects, others might post small tutorials or tips, others might just use it as a Twitter feed, lmao – I can name a few people who I know would do that. As long as what they're doing follows the CGs, they're all good as far as I can see.Yeah, now that I think of it, why does that matter? Bridging off from the losing followers point, maybe there could be a button to subscribe/unsubscribe to posts in the community section? This'd help out Scratchers who are following lots of people but don't necessarily want notifications from all of them. Similar to how you can “smash that notification bell!” on YouTube. But that makes me think, if there wasn't a notification button, maybe this would change how following is looked upon in the Scratch community…
I'd also like to get notified when someone posts a project, but that's another suggestion.

I feel like following is pointless right now so “changing how following is looked upon in the Scratch community” is something I'm all for. That reminds me. I was planning on writing a “subscribe button” add-on for Firefox. I should go do that.

Semi support. Yes because it would help the community interact with each other, and no because Scratch is not a social media.

Agreed. I was mostly referring to the F4F controversy… I feel like following is pointless right now so “changing how following is looked upon in the Scratch community” is something I'm all for.

Edit: Wow, you're the OP. Nice mockups.
Oh wow, I don't use Firefox but I'd love one of those for Chrome and/or Safari. That reminds me. I was planning on writing a “subscribe button” add-on for Firefox. I should go do that.
But linking add-ons is banned on Scratch and I'm not a JavaScript coder, so I probably never will get my hands on one… </offtopic>
