Flash Flood 2 Entries + Updates!
UPDATE (This one's kind of a big one)
New Feature: Mode Rings! They're like Jump Rings but they change the player's costume instead. It has its own pink block in the Map sprite with # inputs:
Map Costume - The map costume the mode ring should show in.
X - The X position of the mode ring.
Y - The Y position of the mode ring.
Size - The size of the mode ring (1 is the default).
Ring Costume - The costume the ring should be on. To choose this, simply go to the Mode Ring sprite, go to Costumes, and find the costume you want. Then input the costume name, removing “ Ring 1” or “ Ring 2” from the name.
Player Costume - The costume the ring should turn the player into. This is mainly what chooses the player's mode. For this one, go to the Player sprite, go to costumes, and just choose a costume name to input.
Revival - Same as Jump Rings; put a number to make the mode ring revive after a set number of seconds once players use it, or put the word “Costume” to make the mode ring revive once the player leaves and re-enters the mode ring's map costume.
New Jump Ring Input: NeedInput! Some of the inputs have been rearranged and a completely new one has been added!
NeedInput - If this is “no”, then the player can just touch the jump ring to activate it. If this is “yes”, the player has to be pressing the up or down arrow key to activate the jump ring. This is automatically set to “yes” for Choose rings.
Completely Revamped Shake & Crash! The shake and crash pink block has been revamped, with the old ones still available in the map kit if players wish to use it. Its inputs are below:
Intensity - The harshness of the shake/crash. Like its old version, the shake pink block moves the map costume's position while the crash pink block rotates the map costume.
Decay - How slow the shake should come to a stop. Set this to a higher number for shorter shakes.
Sound - The name of the sound in the Map sprite that should play when the shake occurs. Default “Shake” and “Crash” sounds are already present in the sprite.
Wait Between Shakes - The wait between each movement/rotation of the sprite. The ideal length would be 0.01, for 0.01 seconds.
ShakeMechanics/CrashMechanics - This input is not in the map kit yet, but will be later today (if I don't forget). If this is “yes”, it will shake the wall jumps, ladders, buttons, teleporters, launch pads, and rope swings along with the map. If it is “no”, it will only shake the map.
Lastly, the Jump Rings (and the Mode Rings and Shake/Crash) have had their variables optimized! The 5+ extra variables needed for the jump rings, mode rings, and shake/crash have been completely removed in favor of storing their data inside their own lists! If you must access these variables for some reason, it is still possible by editing or reading the content of the lists, but it requires some digging to fully know how to do this.
