HOW DOES IT EXCLUDE OTHERS WHEN IT SAYS “HOLIDAYS”

edit: accidentally had caps lock on but I'm not reverting it

The are only two: The day Kaj got banned and the day Scratch was created.

The issue with this suggestion is what the holidays mean. To Christians, Christmas is the day Jesus was born, so it is a religious holiday. People of other religions would feel left out and probably leave because they think that Scratch is only for Christians. Halloween offends some religions, since some people think Halloween is about celebrating darkness.

Ah yes, according to the criteria necessary for something to be a “holiday” those are the only two Scratch events that apply.

/s

I can already think of multiple off of the top of my head. The days that Scratch 2.0 and Scratch 3.0 were released could very easily be “holidays”. Same thing with the launch of the initial Scratch community site. Perhaps even the launch of the Snap! community site, if you're feeling particularly adventurous. With Za-Chary leaving the community (temporarily?) you could consider the day he joined, became a Scratch Team member, or the day he left “holidays”. My point is that there are a lot more days to choose from than just two.

You can't do this. There are differnt religions on Scratch. If ST did this it would make the people who are not part of that religion left out or uncomfotable.

I'm sure other websites have done this kind of thing before (Google Doodles), I think if universal holidays are included, people won't feel left out. And yes, we don't have to explicitly mention Christmas. I also approve of including Scratch events as worthy of a title change, although the release of 3.0 kind of collides with the new year.

To be fair, it did release a day later…

This could be interesting, but they should do it for all widely-celebrated holidays (so Hanukkah, but not International Donut Day). Maybe do a color change or theme the navbar or something. Support.

Actually, doing it for entirely insignificant holidays would be a pretty funny gimmick, and it probably wouldn't exclude many people either. How many people do you think would feel left out by International Donut Day? (Also, they could replace the “C” in the Scratch logo with a donut with a bite taken out of it and that opportunity is too good to pass up )

If they included every holiday that exists they could change the logo every day.

Nowadays, practically everyone celebrates Christmas, because it has changed from something religious to something commercial. I am an atheist and yet I celebrate Christmas, because the Christmas spirit will always exist, regardless of religion.
and also i like to get gifts

I also celebrate Christmas while being atheist. I was going to add that (where possible) religious symbols and stuff should be avoided, but I'm not completely sure if that's really possible.
