The ability to have the option to set built-in variables to a slider.

So, built-in variables can only be in a normal or large readout. Why not have the option for a slider? It would fit well, and would be quite useful.

Great idea! You're right, this would be useful, but it's not just the size and volume variables, it's every built-in variable. The X position variable can't be a slider, neither can the costume number, direction, or anything.

It would be a little odd if only two built-in variables got the slider treatment out of all of them, so I suggest changing this suggestion to have the option to set all built-in variables to a slider.

Well, excluding the
(costume [name v]::looks)
and
(backdrop [name v]::looks)
reporters. Those can't be sliders. At least not regular number sliders, anyway.

Great thought. Why couldn't this be extended to all numerical built-in reporters? well exept for the ones you cant change obviously, or the ones that arent numbers

Support. Even though it only takes a minute or so to do it yourself with regular variables it would still be pretty cool.

(mouse x)
(mouse y)
(loudness)
(timer)
(days since 2000)
(distance to [ v])
(video [ v] on [Stage v])
(current [ v])
…except for these. These report attributes of things that can't be changed by Scratch, (mouse, loudness, current, days since 2000, video, distance), or would be extremely weird to have sliders (timer)

Here are the ones that should definitely have a slider:
(volume)
(tempo :: #00d080)

Here are the ones that could have a slider but would be a bit weird to have one:
(x position)
(y position)
(direction)
(size)
(timer)

Out of those five only the timer would be weird, the rest make perfect sense. Especially for simulators and games where you have to set something in a certain way.

The “language” reporter in the translate extension would also be a good slider, but it would need this suggestion to be implemented first…
And it would be the same for other non-numerical values. (I know this is like “it's better to keep the discussion in one place” but all suggestions are connected…) source

How would x, y, direction, and size be weird.
Also, why don't you just make a variable and use it as a slider with the “set () to ()” blocks
