The ability to use an image URL as a way to upload images.
Currently, you upload an image by selecting the image from your computer's files. Why not have the ability to paste an image URL, and that becomes the image?
I'd really like a mockup if someone is willing to create it.
I wasn't able to find a dupe

dupe(probably not the oldest)That's suggesting having a button to set project thumbnails like uploading backdrops.
Mine suggests the option to use a URL to set a PFP or Studio Thumbnail.
Two completely different things, please check that your dupe is actually a dupe before posting

Would this be extended to costumes and backgrounds? If so, support! I don't want to clutter up my files with random images and would like a quicker way.

You can actually do this in Google Sl*des, and I've found it to be a cool feature.

I've always kind of wanted this, as my computer gets pretty cluttered with miscellaneous images quickly. I think it'd be more convenient if you could paste an image into the editor, but that's different.
The only problem I can see with this is making it easier to import inappropriate images, which seemed to be a reoccurring issue on the Music On Profile suggestion and will probably be the same here.

I don't see what makes this any easier than just downloading the inappropriate image and importing it then. The only problem I can see with this is making it easier to import inappropriate images,

I do think they have a point, since it would feel a lot less awkward for a lot of people just taking the image from the internet and putting it in there, rather than downloading it into your computer. And even if it's not your computer, your account. That place is like your memories, whether the access to it is private or not, and I don't think very many of us want an inappropriate image in them. Even if you do delete it, and then delete it from your trash, it was there once, and it's like you erased a memory, now that you don't want or need it, after only taking it in for a one-time purpose. Unless I'm much mistaken, the ability to choose images from online would make choosing inappropriate images feel a lot more comfortable.I don't see what makes this any easier than just downloading the inappropriate image and importing it then. The only problem I can see with this is making it easier to import inappropriate images,
Yup, and not just on slides. But since you can keep a slides presentation private it wouldn't really have the same effect as it would on Scratch. You can actually do this in Google Sl*des, and I've found it to be a cool feature.

Even if it feels more comfortable in a way like The only problem I can see with this is making it easier to import inappropriate images, which seemed to be a reoccurring issue on the Music On Profile suggestion and will probably be the same here.@IndianRuby718 said, you can always report a project with inappropriate images, and I don't see how this is much different from just importing, other than “it feels bad in some way to be downloading inappropro images.” I mean, that feels a bit silly. People will import and export at will — and if someone's gonna put an inappropriate pic on a Scratch project then I don't understand why they're uncomfortable downloading one.

the scratch team would have to run a server which proxies the requests, otherwise they'd run into cors issues among other things

Support! It makes me not have to use precious data on the school chromebook I use so it can actually run faster. It can also save my time because you just right click on a image then press copy image then ctrl+v into the enter image url. Only if the Scratch is able to run this then it is Support for me!
