Actually I do believe that the thing about Tom and Jerry is a misconception. I don't think it was the last.

If we're being honest, theres no line between darkness and friendly in nickeloden, it wouldn't be the worst.

I mean, Nickelodeon does get pretty dark (ever watched Hey Arnold's “urban legend” episodes?), but I still can't imagine the network allowing something like what you suggested.
