The ability to exit a class.

Lots of people have their account as a student account, but then if they still want to use the account, it's still saying that it's a student account, even though they're not actually still using the class feature. I'm also an old student account from a summer camp for coding, but the coding camp is old, and I really want to be able to exit the class, so that in 10 years, it's not going to say that I'm a student from a 10 year old class.

Semi-support, mostly because a student could (for some reason) leave the class and get out of doing assignments, then when they have something due they could say there was a problem and they couldn't be registered. Also, student accounts are for schools, so if someone wanted to use an account they should make their own.

Maybe when you try to leave a class the owner of the class/teacher would have to approve it?

What if they're no longer active on Scratch?

Well then there should be a feature for disabling leaving the classroom, or a request permission to leave classroom feature.

That would bring up the last post I made:

If they're no longer active on Scratch, how would they check to see if someone wants to get out?

I need help bc I finished a class in scratch but at the end of the year, my teacher will archive it and my acount will be deleted. I REALLY need to know how to remove myself from that class.

Download all your projects, create a new account and reshare the projects in your new account. All followers, likes and favourites will be lost, but that is better than nothing.
(To create a new account, log out of the one you are currently using, click join and fill in the required forms)

100% support. The simple thing people don't realize… The teacher could just punish the kid in the SCHOOL! No one is gonna get out of assignments.

Support. Just make it have a 1 year cooldown after the account is created.

And maybe after 5 years it'll automatically leave (and if it hasn't been active for the 5 years, maybe because its one of those name swiping teacher accounts, then it gets deleted and other scratchers can have the account )

Otherwise I support.

Same with @stoneemv, I don't go to the school where my account was created, so I want to know how to leave my class.
when green flag clicked

Nope. A teacher created a class full of 1st-graders who wanted to learn Scratch. And after 5 years, all students automatically left?

Maybe, a teacher sets a time to “release” the students from the class. It would vary from teacher to teacher, whatever they set it to.

This would be very useful for students who want to keep using Scratch long after their class has been deleted.
