is sharing websites that contains your email okay? (cuz i've seen many people do this to share their email and discord servers)

Most people just use gmail or another major provider.
Doesn't mean all of them do
True. But as you said, this is like the discord censor. It cuts down most of it, but it does not delete it as a whole.

I don't think so.

That probably depends on how blatant it is. If it's made with a free website builder and just has their info then it wouldn't be allowed, but a legitimate website that has contact details somewhere is probably fine.

Isn’t there a lot of email providers. There’s also some hidden ones as well.

What about people who know each other in real life and then say, go check the email I just sent you, but emails can also give away real names (surname included) Semi support, but I don't see the point of censoring it in the forums, is anything censored in the forums anyway.

No support. Many email keywords are also other things too. For example, Comcast is a full company. Also, Outlook is not just an email application, but also a normal word. And people use Gmail to refer to most Google apps, so someone helping someone else debug might use “Gmail” while not talking about the actual mail service. Same with iCloud. Also, emails can be any website. Someone who goes to school at MIT, for example, would have an mit.edu domain (at least I think) which is the same domain as Scratch!

Who would use gmail without meaning, well, the email service? Also:

Total support. This would really help cut down on unmoderated chat links. Anyway, for the people saying “what about custom domains”, we don't need to censor all of them. People will still find ways, just like how instead of discord, you can type d1scord d iscord dlscord, etc. This will only cut down the number, not vanquish it.

Also, I thought of a workaround. Someone could use 10minmail and paste that link, and in that temporary inbox, they could give out their real email (if it is blocked by the filter bot)
10minmail would be blocked then, forgot to say that.

Discord is also a word, but it's blacklisted.

That's because “discord” is mostly used to refer to the chat application. “Outlook” is used as a word more commonly (e.g. “I have a positive outlook”)

In my opinion, a better solution would to blacklist anything with a email format, (ex. anything with name@emailprovider.domainending) so it could filter things more easily and the devs won't have to add a bunch of email providers. Sure, it would be harder to do, but when you create a account, it also sometimes says “Please include a @ symbol in the email” and “Please include the part after the @ symbol”. It does not have one for a dot, but they could add that.

I agree. There are many students in Scratch - and many students have an email that has a provider from their school. For example, if John Doe is a student in a school for example Hollywood Arts, and his school gives their students their own emails, it will probably be like johndoe@hollywoodarts.net or something.

Anyway, my point is there are many email providers and there's no way a bot could catch them all.

However, I agree that sharing emails is a problem, though there has to be better ways to censor them, no?

Also; if this is implemented, the censor shouldn't be on the forums. It would be such a pain to have to talk about a glitch, question, etc. about emails.

There should be an exception for the domain example.com. That way there is a way to have a placeholder email if you really need it. E.g. user@example.com wouldn't be filtered. It would be possible for someone to say something like, “email me at user@example.com except with gmail,” but they could do the same and be less confusing by leaving out the @example.com.
