'Illegal' bump warning (please read suggestion)

How about only the OP gets this warning? Usually the OP is the one bumping and when others bump, it's usually a few days after the last post.

Yes, I don't think many bumps the OP makes would be considered illegal, even in forums like QaS where Necroposting is an issue. If it's the OP bumping, then they 99% of the time still want the answer. On the other hand, if it isn't the OP bumping, it's far more likely to be illegal.

Well everyone who has seen this suggestion exactly 1387 for now would know, and override (hmmm, is that the right word to use) the warning

But it's gonna reduce the number of illegal bumps we see and have to deal with.

There aren't that many to begin with. The group of people who know what a bump is, actively bump, but don't the rules of bumping is quite small.

The Google Ngram viewer shows that the word bump makes up 0.00039% of words in their huge Google corpus, and that the word eagle is around two and a half times more common than the word bump. Across seven years of over 4000 forum posts, thepost you're current reading is the only time I've said eagle, so we can infer that had “bump” not become the norm for bumping topics, I would've also never said “bump” in all of my forum posts.
