Update the "Unfollow" button to say "Following"
I just thought of this, and on many social media sites, you see “Following” when you are already following somebody. Maybe update Scratch's unfollow button to add some parity with other services? Although doing this might leave people wondering how they unfollow somebody (not that I'm suggesting to make it impossible to unfollow Scratchers).
Edit: I mentioned social media sites because they tend to have “Following” buttons, not because I want Scratch to be like a social media site. I just was thinking about it being more consistent between any site or service.

Honestly, I don't see the point in this. I don't support, but I don't not support. Maybe this would help some people? I'd like to see what other people say, though.

I don't see the point in making Scratch more similar to other social media sites.

The unfollow button is just fine. Scratch does not need to be more like other sites.

Yeah.. I fail to see how this would prove useful to users. Sorry, but I don't really see a point in this. Do you think you can give some examples?

No support for the reason Mr. SCP-02496 said. Scratch isn't made for social media, it's made for coding. I don't see the point in increasing the social media chunk of scratch, if anything, we should be decreasing it. I don't see the point in making Scratch more similar to other social media sites.

Not only do I not see the point in making Scratch more like other sites, but I just don't see how this would be useful. It makes sense as it is: you can follow, then you can unfollow with the button being labelled accordingly. It just makes sense. When you want to unfollow someone, it makes sense that you would click the unfollow button. It doesn't make sense that you would click the following button.

Doesn't it already say something like
“you are now following Mr_PenguinAlex”
when you click it

when you click it

No Support. It's Fine as it is.
Remember, Scratch is a CODING Website, not a Social Media site.

I mentioned social media sites because they tend to have “Following” buttons, not because I want Scratch to be like a social media site. I just was thinking about it being more consistent between any site or service.

There isn't really a point to this, if it says unfollow, people will know how to unfollow someone, if it says following, people who are new to Scratch might not understand how to unfollow, there is no need for scratch to be like social media sites, because that isn't what Scratch is, it's and educational coding site

Support.
It says ‘following’ on Instagram etc. so we might as well make it consistent with that,

Instagram is a Social media site, Scratch isn't, so we don't need to make Scratch more like social media sites, we can't pointlessly change something just to make Scratch more of something it isn't Support.

Agreed. It makes no sense to make something more confusing just to make Scratch more like something it is not related to in any way besides the fact that it has a social aspect to it. It also makes no sense to make Scratch more like Instagram (and etc, I just needed to choose one because it'll be easy to type) because Instagram (and most websites that have that feature) isn't even allowed on Scratch. That's like making a little kids game and adding a bunch of horror or mature aspects to it to make it consistent with the games for kids who are above pre-k.Instagram is a Social media site, Scratch isn't, so we don't need to make Scratch more like social media sites, we can't pointlessly change something just to make Scratch more of something it isn't Support.

No support because of this UX Movement article. However, the above-mentioned article also mentions a workaround to let users know that they're already following the other user — without using “Following” as the direct text shown in the button.
