I won't debate or argue with people on this topic anymore, sorry!

I have seen a lot users of blockspamming in the ‘New Scratchers’ and ‘Announcements’ forum
like

It really lags or even crashes the device if there're too many scratchblocks.
Especially for mobile users, I'm on a tablet for literally 90% of all the time

If they need help with a script, they could just simply head to the “Help with Scripts” Forum
The only people in these two forums who can use Scratchblocks are ST and forum mods.

Imagine this.

To use the [scratchblocks] tag, you must become a Scratcher.

Wait where is my code?
Or this.

How can I make a pong script?

Or even this.

Support. They're not really necessary in the New Scratchers forum. If people need help, they should go to Help with Scripts.

No,I meant to disable Scratch Blocks in the ‘New Scratcher’ forum, not for new Scratchers.
That's… what I said.

I think you'd be better off disabling scratchblocks on the Announcements forum since that forum receives a ton of blockspam due to the amount of traffic it receives from people who have never used the forums before (it's the only part of the forums that usually has a link to it from the front page)

The plug-in can severely lag and even crash the browser on low-end systems, but plaintext can't do that as easily.

In theory it's a good idea, but it could have some drawbacks. if it's only in the ‘new scratchers’ forum, the spammers and like will just move to a different forum, which could seem good at the start, when it's really not.

Why not both?

Anyways, support. Scratchblocks wouldn't be very useful in the New Scratchers forum and this could greatly reduce spam. (if this would be easy to code into the forums, of course)

The announcements forum annoys me with all the rubbish that is posted on there by new forum users. Support, but I would rather new scratchers cannot post in the announcements forum at all.

I don't know, it seems like avoiding the problem. I think there was a suggestion to ban New Scratchers from replying in Announcements to cut back on spam, which seems like a better idea to me.

That's not how suggestions work, there's no necroposting in this subforum
