Why isn't there a cloud character limit in total?
Something I thought about is the fact that you can only have 256 characters / numbers in a cloud variable and up to 10 in total. But why can't you just have up to 2560 numbers in total and as many variables as you want? It wouldn't make could chats easier since you can just use 10 variables and join them and do some weird stuff, but it would encourage adding cloud multiplayer funcions to your games. Which is rad.
Probably this is a dupe.
So, as usual:
Pros: Better cloud games
Cons: I … dunno!

Hai there, the reason they do not do that is because as you say would make cloud chats easier which the Scratch Team want to avoid. If you want to have unlimited cloud variables try using Snap.

It would also be some sort of cloud list alternative.

The actual cloud limit per variable is 256, so, it's 2560 in total.

Okay … whatever. Still, it would be nice to have an unlimited amount of variables, like partitions on a hard drive. The actual cloud limit per variable is 256, so, it's 2560 in total.

Or actually, like pretty much standard variables: They are just little reserved parts of RAM.

Wouldn't there be a limit of 2560 variables?

Maybe. But … if you only put something into up to 2506 variables of the 10000 you have, then who cares? But maybe. Just a limit of 200 would be nice. Wouldn't there be a limit of 2560 variables?

I can see what you're saying, and I think that would be a good idea, but I suppose it could get a little messy, with cloud variables that change their length in the middle of a project.

That's already possible. And cloud stuff is currently really messy because you have multiple “variables” in a single one. Could you edit the post so it says “256” instead of “128” and “2560” instead of “1280”?

Again, a bump. It would make cloud games easier so people don't have to copy griffpatch's scripts.

I support this but it would make the server load A LOT. Something I thought about is the fact that you can only have 256 characters / numbers in a cloud variable and up to 10 in total. So loading = wait wait = users mad users mad = users bad users bad = headache
So i support only 49.99%

I'm not really sure how, because the total characters stays the same. It's always going to be 2560.I support this but it would make the server load A LOT.
