This will probably be closed soon because it isn't a suggestion.

Lately, I've seen TOO MANY times people pointing out a duplicate and just below them someone linking the same topic linked above.
STOP DOING THIS.

It's not constructive. It's not adding to the discussion. It's not helpful.
If you want to say something that has already been brought up in the discussion, don't say it.

Thanks for taking your time to read.

Yeah, I think I should read the posts before to see if somebody has already posted the link, before I post.

I don't really want this to be a sticky. I just wanted to make people realize that it is something that should be avoided. I just hope that someday, people stop doing that.

But still, thanks.

Well, being unconstructive is already against the rules.

I doubt we'll officially ban these kind of topics outright, but I do agree that they're generally unconstructive. Even when suggested in good faith, removing a block is just something that we're not likely to do unless it's very obviously superfluous. I don't think it's something that we're likely to only consider because someone suggested it.

…Oh.

Listen, it's a busy day ok. >_>

FWIW I do agree with the core point you're making here, too. Dogpiling a thread with “wrong forum”, “duplicate”, “not allowed” kind of responses really isn't constructive.

Many other types of spam including quoting without adding to the topic (example below) are also quite popular.

They indeed are. However, I noticed that this phenomenon is happening very frequently lately.

Hey there! I do agree that these posts are nonconstructive…but it seems to fit well in @Sigton's sticky, because he says something about not quoting another user and nothing else, and while not all of them are quoting the user, they are both saying the same thing…however, @Sigton seems to be inactive.

Maybe a moderator could sort this out if he/she/they agree(s).

I think a lot of this is people ninja'ing each other. Someone will be finding a duplicate on one tab and making the post on another while someone else is doing the exact same thing. Then one person ninjas the other.

Indeed, ninja's shouldn't count (it's not your fault: you couldn't have known it that someone was also doing the same thing you were), but it happened to me to see posts from people that posted even 10 minutes after the first post.

Another rule should be no joke topics that require PeterExplainsTheJoke

Thanks for your input - I've amended the Constructive Recommendations On How to Respond to and Make Suggestions thread.
