Making "Studio Updates"

Summary:

What if ST made a thing called “studio updates”? If you're the owner of the studio you can send out 500 character or less “updates” that won't appear on profiles or anything ~ just all of the curators' messageboxes. This way, if a studio is becoming inactive, the owner won't have to go to every member's profile and give an update ~ they can just send it out to everyone at once.

Suggestions:

~ There could be a fifth studio tab that everyone can view called “Updates” to prevent private messaging.
Projects | Comments | Curators | Activity | Updates
~ The updates COULD appear in the comments with something to distinguish them from normal comments, such as an ‘Update from “Studio” by @Manager’ banner or the text all being in bold or italics.
Update from “Studio” by @Manager
(insert update here)
~ To prevent spamming, you can only send out updates once per day (or something similar).
Sorry, this studio has already send out an update today.
~ Every manager can send out updates (this might also help people only choose managers that will benefit the studio).
Bad mock-up coming soon!
~ There should be a “Report” button on the update, to report inappropriate or irrelevant updates.
Would you like to report this update?
Yes | No

Examples:

Update from “Warrior Cats RP” by @Random_Person
Hey everyone! It seems that activity has been going down lately. If you can't be active anymore, please notify me. Otherwise, let's get RPing!

Update from “Really Cool Projects!” by @Random_Person
Hi! I've decided that this will be a non-profit studio. Managers, please remove any curators' projects from the studio. Thanks!

This sounds like a nice idea!
Plus, you can avoid spam ~ if you don't like a studio update, or a studio is sending out too many updates, just don't curate anymore.
Or even better, when a person becomes a curator, there could be a box that says “I want to receive updates from the owner” or something like that, that they would have to tick in order to receive them.

That's true, but that would still make it even harder for managers to get activity checks and event notices out to their curators. I think if you like the studio enough to want to be a curator, you should like it enough to receive notices. Especially if you manage!

How do you propose that this will prevent private messaging?

A studio update could appear in the Activity section, as
@Manager released an update for this studio:
I have decided that this studio shall become a non-profit organization. All curators, please remove any of your own projects from the studio.
among the more common
@Stranger accepted an invitation from @Manager to curate this studio.

I like this idea, and I also think all managers, not just owners, should be able to release studio updates.

semi support. This will just spam a user's message box, if both the studio and owner are very active, and this can lead into PMing, which is banned on Scratch.
bye!

Maybe there could be a tab on each studio, like the ones for projects, comments, curators and activity, called “updates” which anyone can view.

Yes; I like that.

Perhaps it would only appear in a person's messagebox as “@Manager has posted a new update” which you could then view in the studio.
Or it could appear on the member's account, with “STUDIO UPDATE FROM ______” before it and the update after.

Or it could appear in studio activity, as I propose, or in a fifth studio tab, as @nerdiebirdy proposes…

I would say a fifth studio tab - then everyone can view it, and it'll be easier to find (because studio activity gets swamped with every comment members make - if someone saw that an update had been released a few days after it was released, if it's an active studio, they may not be able to find it). There could also be a link to the specific update in the messagebox message.

PMing has been discussed above
As well as that, perhaps a single studio can only send out an update once per week or something similar, to prevent spamming - and even if it was allowed to send one per day, it would be no worse than “There has been new activity in ____” messages.

Support so long as the “updates” tab is added.

#2: I think there would have to be something to distinguish updates from comments; maybe a(n?) “UPDATE from @Manager” banner, or the text would be all in bold?
#3: To mitigate spamming, put a Report button next to each update.

there is no point in moving a suggestion to a different topic because you moved

Now I can't edit the OP, which is the greatest inconvenience. I now have to switch accounts to do that.
