Remove "my variable" variable

Can you please have an update which makes the “my variable” variable no longer show up when making a new project? I'm sick and tired of having to remove it every time I make a new project.

That's why they have the “Getting Started” guide. Almost every book from the library that talks about making scratch projects requires them to learn about the interface of scratch and where blocks are.

Don't know the reason behind why it's here either, but I don't really care about whether it is removed or not, just rename it before you start using it and that works just as fine.

It can be annoying to delete the variable, but it isn't very very important. Also nothing will happen when you don't use it.
Basically I don't see a reason to delete it, but I would support deleting “new message”.

I don't believe it's particularly useful, even to new Scratchers - after all, if anything it teaches those who are new to programming to name variables vaguely and to put whitespace in variable names - both of which will quickly become frustrating if they move on to bigger projects in more advanced programming languages.

There just isn't much of a reason to remove it. Naming a pre-set variable “my variable” is just very generic, and it can't be argued with. Besides, it won't kill to delete it or to not use it.

Na, it's actually a pretty useful block, and it's one thing that is hard to imagine Scratch without(even if it's 100th hardest thing to imagine scratch without).

in my opinion, the very least is that it should get a rename to something like:

support- its useless. Its easier to just make your own. Sure- you can ignore it, but its pointless anyway.

I'm surprised no one thought of this- maybe it's only there for New Scratchers, the only downside I can see for this is that when they become a Scratcher they might think that the variable blocks are gone.

Nobody thought of this because it's a line of thinking which has been rejected countless times by several Scratch Team members. The New Scratcher rank only exists to counteract spam, and it shouldn't have any affect on anything outside of that.

the only downside I can see for this is that when they become a Scratcher they might think that the variable blocks are gone.

Because the pretty large button which is clearly labelled “make a variable” wouldn't spell out what to do for them? I think that if I really thought the variables blocks were gone I would click on the only variable-related button I could find first.
