Cut the ST some slack, people!
If you look through the Feedback section, you will see a lot of whining over the current state of cloud data, Paint Editor, etc. I'd like to make a public service announcement to help the ST save on aspirin.
Point 1: Might I remind everyone that this is BETA STAGE. It's not the final, official release! The Scratch Team is letting us use it to TEST it, make it better, and so on. Whining over the current condition of the Beta doesn't help at all, it only plugs up the forums and slows the servers. It's harder for the ST to add more features when they have to use a machete to get through all of the “I hate the Editors!”, “Bitmap sucks!”, “No, Vector Sucks!”, “Cloud Data Sucks!”and so on. Whining doesn't help, which leads me to my next point:
Point 2: Be helpful. Report glitches, make suggestions, be polite, and overall help FIX the problems instead of saying you hate something and not suggesting anything. 2.0 can be awesome, but complaining lazily and/or rudely isn't going to further that cause.
I am all for choices. I support both Vector and Bitmap graphics, and if you don't like one, don't USE it. The option can't hurt anybody. As for cloud data, let me illuminate the positions Scratchers took:
Scratch Team: Sorry guys, we need to take away Cloud Data because it's buggy and chatrooms pose a moderation problem. Don't worry- they will be back soon! Expect it back working better!
Us(Scratch Community): WHAT?!? This sucks! Give us cloud data! I want it because it was a major attraction of 2.0!
ST: Okay, here you go. Just warning you, cloud stuff is hard to do and is still buggy since we didn't have much time to fix it… Oh, and by the way, we still haven't come to a conclusion on chatrooms, so for now they're banned.
Us: NO CLOUD LISTS?!? I HATE YOU, ST! GIVE THEM BACK! THIS SUCKS! THE PAINT EDITOR SUCKS, TOO! *more useless whining*
ST: How do we fix this?
Us: I hate it. It sucks.
See what I mean? Help these guys out, people! Don't make it harder, be helpful! And while we're at it, lets provide some POSITIVE feedback, too. Like for instance, we can now edit sounds from inside Scratch!
Oh, yeah, point I forgot to raise earlier and can't fit back in- Testing Beta is a privilege. They don't HAVE to let us use it. Letting us test it is a favor to us, because we can make it better and we get to see where it's going, and we get to play with new features and stuff.

Revised version: ST: How do we fix this?
Us: I hate it. It sucks.
Us: In order to fix this problem, I suggest doing X, Y, and/or Z.
ST: So, how do we fix this?
Us: GAHHH!!!

The rest, though… yeah. I do agree that some people aren't being very helpful.

Or maybe,

ST: Here's why that won't work: (uses half the alphabet)
Us: Oh. Why didn't I see those problems when I posted that?!?
We need workable solutions.

Yeah, Vector Editor is awesome. I'd just like to see one that works more like 1.4's. There are a lot of people, though, that LOATHE the Editor.

Well, then, “we” need to look right in front of our own noses, yes?Revised version: ST: How do we fix this?

Yeah, the ST doesn't always ignore solutions, but the inverse of that isn't true, either. On this website, I've noticed that there is an above-average (as in, unusually large) chance that a working solution to a problem will simply go unnoticed.

Not true, just because we don't respond to all suggestions doesn't mean were ignoring them. And in some cases it's best to let a suggestions thread run its course to see what comes up, especially in cases where the best solution is not so clear cut for us. .Well, then, “we” need to look right in front of our own noses, yes?Revised version: ST: How do we fix this?

The truth is that a lot of the suggestions we come across aren't easy to implement. Either they take time to do, they're not easily doable, or they are doable but not worth implementing because it takes up too many resources that could be better spent elsewhere. Often times that's hard to see for those who use the website externally and just use the interface, those who work internally can see these problems better - so what you might think is a solution that is right in front of our nose in your eyes is really a far off destination with a really creepy and dangerous side-winding road fraught with unknown bugs ready to jump out (and whether or not the ST takes that road depends on whether or not they are fully prepared for it and if the journey is worth it).
