Are you asking a question or suggesting that we should turn the suggestions forums into a pallet box?
The suggestion forums aren't a place to vote but discuss ideas that will make Scratch better. Not every great idea will make it in no matter how many supporters it has. If the Scratch Team thinks the idea is necessary, they will implement the idea into Scratch.

The number of supporters doesn't influence whether a suggestion is added; even if a million Scratchers supported a rejected suggestion, it wouldn't be added because, well, it's rejected, and for good reasons. The Scratch Team looks at the reasons people support or don't support a suggestion when deciding whether or not to add it, or whether to reject it.

Exactly.
These places are the discussion forums. As defined by Merriam-Webster, a forum means a public meeting place for open discussion. “Open discussion”, which means that people should be open-minded and give out their personal opinions and ideas of something. Voting is completely the opposite - people just randomly decide whether they want the suggestion or not and they don't think about the reason which is not what we're going for here. Reasons are more important than pure randomness.
Oh, and another thing, if you think you don't want to help out and merely want to vote on stuff then I suggest you go learn some basic Scratch forum helping and then decide to hang out here. Not being offensive, just suggesting something.

Let me quote birdoftheday:
The moral of the story is that for most things, thousands of votes don't work. There's a reason this place is called called “Discussion” and not “Ballot Box”. Things have to be decided via discussion, not mindless voting. Think of what Scratch could be if we changed and molded suggestions instead of supporting or not supporting them as they stand.

> number of supporters doesn't influence whether a suggestion is added
really?? number of ppl isnt considered and doesnt affect at all?
why?
how could only reason be the factor? what if only 1 person has the reason
the number of ppl are reflective of all reasons,
ppl vote on something cos of reasons
cos ppl want something
this has prob been talked about somewhere
can link to wiki or site or w/e that specifically addresses the points i raised
and the full discussion

For example, the Scratch Team has decided to only change usernames in emergencies, and the ST says that the option to freely change your username will never be added because it would be too hard on the servers. However, if 120 people support it, the ST still won't add it. > number of supporters doesn't influence whether a suggestion is added

For example, there's The Complete List of Rejected Suggestions in which the Scratch Team has put all the suggestions they definitely won't accept even if there are reasons and more people wanting it. Nothing will influence rejected suggestions, no matter how desperate the Scratch community is. But let's think about it from another approach. If one person finds amazing ways (HTML code) to make a rejected suggestion work flawlessly and shares it to the Scratch Team on their GitHub development repository, the ST will be happy to finally have a reason and make that rejected suggestion an actual feature. Why? Because the user with the code indirectly gave a reason - they have flawless code! The code was so amazing the ST had no way to object the reason.
I understand how convinced you are that the number of people wanting a suggestion is more important, but by merely voting, they can't give out flawless, feasible, wonderful reasons that can certainly convince the ST. What do you think is better - one or a couple of more amazing reasons or dozens of votes desperate to get some random feature? The first one seems so much more simple than the second, doesn't it? Of course, if one person gave a good reason and all the others overhauled him with bad ones then that suggestion wouldn't be implemented because of bad reasons. In this case, the ST would be able to review the bad reasons and not randomly look at the people that have downvoted a suggestion.
But let's approach every suggestion with a complete other way now. Whenever you see a suggestion, simply think it is rejected and the ST won't add it (which is not the case, but imagining so will make life easier). If you feel like it should remain rejected, give out a reason why it shouldn't be implemented (a bad reason) and if you want it, give out an inspiring, flawless reason. Or you can, at least, try to do that. The desperation to give out a fantastic reason and be confident all by yourself is way better than depending on dozens of other people to help you on upvoting suggestions. Think about it yourself, isn't the current way a better approach than the one you're suggesting?
If you really do want to make polls for your suggestions even after my long explanation, simply search up polls on the internet and you'll find a poll creation website. It's way better than the ST struggling to make a built-in poll system.
