But people could just download the sound without this feature. Copyright is an issue either way.

That's half true, but the more we can do about copyright violations, the better it is.

Correct, but pretty much every feature could cause copyright violations: that doesn't mean they are banned. For example, profile pictures could be used for stolen artwork or copyrighted images. Uploading images from the person's device into the editor could also cause issues, but those are still used and are features.
