When I make a comment on my code and delete it immediately, when I try to navigate using my trackpad, up and down work fine, but whenever I try to scroll right, it always pushes me back to the left.

This has happened numerous times to me too. (It's very aggravating. ) To fix it, click the Reset Zoom button in the bottom right-hand corner of the code area, marked by an equals sign.
