A little trouble here... Scratch 3.0 does not seem to work on my computer!

For starters, here is my browser / operating system: Windows XP, Chrome 49.0.2623.112, Flash 22.0 (release 0) and Firefox 52.0, Flash 16.0 (release 0).
At first, although I was somewhat anticipating the release of Scratch 3.0, I was a bit concerned due to the fact that its beta had some glaring issues. Nevertheless, I hoped that these issues would be resolved when it was officially launched in January 2 and apparently, not so. When I opened a project on Chrome, this is what I was greeted with,

Anyway, I tried my other web browser, Firefox, hoping that things would get better.

This raised my eyebrow as there was nothing displayed on the “stage,” when I clicked see inside, well…

As you can see, I can't work on projects on Scratch 3.0, much less upload sb2. files from my computer, can this be resolved?

Try using Opera, see if that works

I think using XP (or Vista actually) is going to be very difficult because the main browsers (firefox and chrome) no longer provide updates for those OS's, and you can't install Edge.

It looks like you don't have WebGL installed. Go to the WebGL install page to get it.
If for whatever reason that doesn't work, or if 3.0 is still buggy, you can export all of your projects (using this tool) and work on them using the 2.0 Offline Editor.
The Scratch Team is working on making all devices better compatible with 3.0, so hang in there!

Hmm… I downloaded the installer, but it does nothing, I'll keep trying though as it is still somewhat supported on Windows XP to a certain extent.

Yeah, I'm hoping that their still might be a way to circumvent these issues, I am also hoping that I don't have to upgrade my computer to a newer operating system (too many of my programs exclusively work on XP).

Although it seems that my Firefox does not support WebGL, Chrome does.

A tool to convert Scratch 3.0 projects to 2.0 projects? Awesome! I'm not really sure how to use it though, do you think you can help me?

I also hope that scratch in the future will work on older platforms, as I am not exactly willing to obtain a new computer.

A little trouble here... Scratch 3.0 does not seem to work on my computer!

From the Scratch FAQ:

https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/info/faq#scratch3

What are the system requirements for Scratch?
Scratch will run in most current web browsers on desktops, laptops and tablets. You can view projects on mobile phones, but currently you are not able to create or edit projects on phones. Below is the list of officially supported browsers.

Desktop

Chrome (63+)
Edge (15+)
Firefox (57+)
Safari (11+)
Internet Explorer is NOT supported.

—————

Note that although Scratch 3.0 may run on older browsers (I don't know if it will or not) it is likely to have some bugs as the Scratch Team may have used features of these releases not available in earlier releases.

Well, that kind of stinks, I can't upgrade my browser on my computer for obvious reasons, still, I do hope that Scratch will soon be able to run on my computer soon.

Nevertheless, thanks for the information!

A little trouble here... Scratch 3.0 does not seem to work on my computer!

My computer has just become obsolete (15 year old thinkpad R50e + latest sparky linux (debian) + firefox 65) to run scratch 3 online: that's a pity, and I guess that all the computers from my highschool will meet the same issue.

bye bye Scratch ?

There is (afaik) no way to use Scratch other than using 1.X.

Online: You can't upgrade browsers
3.0 Offline: Installer refuses to install
2.0 Offline: No adobe air that matches

Scratch now works on my computer… to a certain extent. I can now press the green flag, and the project will seemingly like normal, but it does not seem to respond to any inputs from my keyboard. Why?

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 73.0.3683.103, No Flash version detected

You're supposed to use Windows 10 because I'm using it and everything works fine. Maybe get an ISO from here.

A few things. First of all, you should use Windows versions that are supported, not a specifically supported operating system. Secondly, this user uses Windows XP, meaning that there's a likeliness they'd have to hit installing a few more recent versions (if that's free) before Windows 10. This means that if installing more recent versions is not free, Windows 10 won't be either.

The BSoB appears on unsupported browsers. Android's Chrome 42 is unsupported and therefore displays the BSoB on every project page. And many other old browsers will have the BSoB as well.
