Studio notifications are more specific.
You all know the feeling, right? When you log into your account, check your messages, and half the messages are just studio updates. It's annoying.
But nobody can tell whether or not that message is just someone commenting emoji spam, or something to do with you.
So I suggest that the messages TELL you what happens in the studio. Like…
The message amount should stay the same, but at least you know what's going on without having to click on a thousand links.
Who agrees?

Person A changed the title or picture of Studio A
Person B commented in Studio B “Phrase A”
Person C replied to your comment on Studio D saying “Phrase O”And so on and so forth.

Support, it could really show if it is something important in the studio, or something stupid.

No support. If you really want to know, you can check the studio activity.

Studio notifications are more specific.
No support.
Although I like the idea of it being more specific rather than “new activity”, how often would this give you a notification? Scratchers are already annoyed at how many notifications they get from studios. If someone adds 5 new projects to a studio, would I get 5 notifications? I'm not sure that a lot of Scratchers would support this idea, because of this.
As @LionHeart70 says, if you're actually committed to helping curate/manage a studio, you should probably just read the studio activity.
Also,

I'm pretty sure that you get a notification anyway if someone replies to your comment. Person C replied to your comment on Studio D saying “Phrase O”

Semi support- I like the idea of changing the new activity message to something else, but this would be pretty spammy for large studios. Perhaps it should be simplified and shortened down, something like this:
There are new comments in studio EXAMPLE
There have been changes to the look of studio EXAMPLE(this would cover the description and prof pic)
Studio EXUMPLE has been renamed EXAMPLEand, for bigger bouts of activity:
Users have added a lot to studio EXAMPLE(for comments and projects)
Lots of changes have been made to studio EXAMPLE(for multiple changes, including more comments and projects)
Studio EXUMPLE has been renamed EXAMPLE, and lots of other changes have been made(when everything's been changed and lots of stuff has been added)
