other features (to enhance the suggestion yet)
and it's very annoying this None

other features (to enhance the suggestion yet)
- make the rule “give credit” on CGs
- make the link of the project that is remixed in the section “exact copy of the project” in “report”

Agreed. They either overwrite it or leave it and lie anyway. It should not count as credit. basically, automatic credit does nothing because:and it's very annoying this None

Support, this would actually enforce the “Give credit” rule to people.

Won't it get other scratchers in trouble because they decided to stop giving credits because of automatic credits update?
I think a reminder that pop-up when you click “Notes and Credit” about giving credit to the original creator should be still there.

Yeah, I think this would be a lot better, because sometimes you just don't want to add anything.

Support, I don't see why it's necessary and it doesn't really count as giving credit anyway.
Note: The “none” text is actually just what happens when a user puts nothing in the notes and credits, not that they type it out. I do think the default text should be changed, maybe to “Thanks to (user)”, or if that's not possible, literally just nothing.

The automatic credit was added for the exact reason that new scratchers didn't add credit—so credit will still be given, as scratchers who put “none” will put “none” either way: https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/topic/220389/
There's also no need to right anything but “none” anymore.

Semi support. I agree with it not being proper credit and that it's often ignored anyway, but I feel that removing it without some other kind of plan in place would just make the problem worse as there would just be even less credit. Maybe the removal should come with a message from the ST received by everyone that reminds people to give credit and that not giving credit is a reportable offence?

100% support. This is getting quite annoying when people remix my projects and in the notes and credits is “None”.
One time someone remixed my project without credit, I decided to be nice and told them something like “hey! nice remix, but please give me credit, thanks!” and also politely told them that when I said “I couldn't get it to work properly so it only changes size while it's spinning” on the original project that I meant that it's not supposed to change size when it's not spinning (they did the opposite) so I told them if they wanted to fix that.
They just wrote rude comments (forgot what they exactly said) then after a while they pretended to be a robot (for some reason) and every time I replied to them they just said something like “<insert username here> OS: blocked”. They unshared the project anyway. All I did was ask politely to them to give me credit.
I don't think the “automatic credit” (if it even counts as credit) is a good idea, it isn't really credit because it is not part of a user-editable feature such as the Notes and Credits or the project itself.

Full Support. It's very annoying when you get “None” on a remix of your project.
Would anyone consider this a duplicate?

I'm not sure what they're talking about, but they sure did not talk about automatic credit Full Support. It's very annoying when you get “None” on a remix of your project.

note, automatic credit was added in 2016, the topic is 2015!

Semi-support. Although I don't think the automatic credit should count as credit, it shouldn't be outright removed. Instead, people should be required to give credit along with the automatic credit system.
My post sounded really weird when I read it
