Dinosaur3 sprite in scratch 3.0 deeply offends me
Dinosaur3 is labeled incorrectly: it's not even a dinosaur. Pterosaur, or even Pterodactyl would be much much better.
Thank you
Thank you

I believe that any lizard-like animal that lived during the prehistoric times is technically considered a dinosaur.

They are dinosaurs.
No, they are not, I checked, but that's not a reason to support this. Many people aren't interested in dinosaurs, and this won't generate a problem for them. Let's just say there's a sprite of a Mac called “PC”, it's wrong, but does it generate problems? No. I think you can live normally even if that sprite is called like it should not be called.

Pterosaurs don’t count as dinosaurs. Look it up.
It’s like how vikings didn’t wear helmets with horns on them or how George Washington never cut down a cherry tree.

I'm aware that pterodactyls are not part of the dinosaur family, but children won't usually learn that and will classify pterodactyls as dinosaurs.

That analogy doesn’t really work Pterosaurs don’t count as dinosaurs. Look it up.

It's not a joke; the Wikipedia article (based on my understanding of it) explains that under the artistic license artists can do whatever to their language in the name of art. This includes naming a pterodactyl a dinosaur.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artistic_licenseI think this is a joke.

Thanks! I noticed the same thing the other day. It may be that what we mean is “dinosaurs and dinosaur-like-flying-creatures” - but I can bring it up with the design team

What counts as “dinosaur-like-flying-creatures?” The only reason why one would associate a pterosaur with the dinosaurs is due to the misconception that they are dinosaurs. Are they “dinosaur-like” just because they coexisted with dinosaurs? A lot of animals that we don't associate with dinosaurs coexisted with them as well, such as sharks, crocodiles, and mammals. In fact, Thanks! I noticed the same thing the other day. It may be that what we mean is “dinosaurs and dinosaur-like-flying-creatures” - but I can bring it up with the design team birds are actually the “dinosaur-like-flying-creatures.”

There are other things that aren't technically correct, and I see no reason to put this one above the others.
1. Glass Water -> Water Glass/Glass of Water
2. Not a name thing, but the headband doesn't have the sprite show up on the selection screen.
3. Mouse1 has a number at the end despite no presence of other mice with numbers.
4. Penguin 2. Same as above.
5. Planet2. Same as above.
6. Singer1. Same as above.
7. Skates, like headband don't show the icon.
8. Star. Same as above.
9. Unicorn/Unicorn-running. I suppose not wrong, but doesn't share the convention of calling itself 1 since there is a Unicorn 2. (Also, Unicorn 2 goes in between when I think it shouldn't. Making them 1 would fix.)
10. There is Tree1, despite no Tree2, although there is Trees, but it is unnumbered.
11. There are a couple of sprites that are multiple costumes with a blank one as their first, making them invisible on the screen, until you hover over them. The hovering doesn't work for others I mentioned here.
So that's my list of other things. Ultimately, these don't matter much, but I'd find it weird to fix just the one with a slightly off name. At the very least, the blank icons are a bit strange and I think that they should be fixed.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that sharks, crocodiles, and mammals are still around today, whereas pterosaurs coexisted with dinosaurs, and went extinct around the same time dinosaurs did. What counts as “dinosaur-like-flying-creatures?” The only reason why one would associate a pterosaur with the dinosaurs is due to the misconception that they are dinosaurs.
