Recon

Current Status : Logo making!.

Recon will be a top-down space shooter with elements from games like Faster Than Light, such as ship upgrading and immersive boss battles that will go further than the standard Space War game.

Checklist of stuff to do (in order, as far as I can predict):
1. Fully develop idea. <Done>
2. Make logo.
3. Develop a pre-alpha that will contain a basic slice of levels, with minimal advanced features.
4. Soundtrack and music.
5. Release the pre-alpha by as soon as possible.
6. Fix bugs and add more stuff.
7. Release a pre-release (beta).
8. Once again fix all bugs.
9. Release 1.0 (for real).

News:

3/16/13 - Yes, this is still in development, it is not dead. I am waiting for a bitmap editor to actually make the game, so that will be a few days. In the meanwhile, two announcements: One, the game will not be for the SC13 round 2, and two, it will be released at a later date. Thank you guys for your patience.

3/10/13 - I am now going to make the logo. I will post the concept stuff here soon. Stay tuned!

3/9/13 - Recon is announced! I will be working on this idea for a little bit! The pre-alpha will be released very soon as it will be my project for the SC13's second round.

It isn't a collaboration, in fact it cannot be since it is against the SC13's rules.

Yeah. SC13 = Scratch Cup 2013, It's a competition

Alright, I think it is prime time I give the basic concept of Recon in a nutshell.

Basically, you'll be playing as a pilot who is trying to wipe out huge amounts of enemies all across. It shares many of the things that other games have, but it does have a few new things.

Half of the game is spent simply opening-fire at huge hordes of ships (like in botcrusher's Serenity or griffpatch's Blaster). But during the other half you will be fighting FTL Faster Than Light style - targeting enemy systems etc.

Coming soon. Not for the SC13's second round - not enough time.

Okay guys, I haven't updated this in a LONG time but I do have some ideas for gamemodes.

These gamemodes have “high” priority, meaning they will be in the game if it is at all possible:
*Singleplayer Campaign
*Arcade Mode (most likely with leaderboards) (Also likely to be a demo.)

These gamemodes have “medium” priority, which means that if there is room, and I can program it, they will be included:
*Multiplayer Deathmatch
*Co-Op Campaign
*Opposing Force (More details later…)

These gamemodes have “low” priority, which means that if there is no room, or if it is at all a burden to code, they will not be included:
*Retro-Mode (retro-graphics)

These gamemodes will not be included:
*Open-world MMO version (too complex, and problems could arise. Plus, safe-chat sucks )

As well, difficulties!

Easy - Recommended for users who are new to games.
Medium - For users who want an average challenge.
Hard - For users who really want a challenge.
Hardcore - Recommended for very experienced players who REALLY want a challenge. As well, permadeath.

Please suggest more gamemodes for the future! Please note that these will not be coded in, as I have zero time to make Scratch Projects for a number of weeks.
