Yeah, I suggested this on Scratch Suggestions! A (clone #) block that assigns a number to each clone of that sprite.

Cool ideas, but assigning variables could get confusing really fast. Any new feature has to pass the test of not making things harder to understand. Check out the sticky in the suggestions forum to learn more!
As for an ID of a clone - there is a way to do this, but it's definitely tricky. You can have each one choose a random number as an ID, and then add an entry with that ID to a list. Then you'll have a way to sort them.

But if you dont want to put features that are too advanced, why did you add mesh in 1.4?
