Get rid of blocking "First Person" in the search results
(I closed my FPS games in search results topic, so this isn't a duplicate of that)
Any search involving the words “first person” in the search bar is completely blocked and no projects will show up.
A first person game/program is one that is shown from the viewpoint of the character, so as in Minecraft, all FPS games, and the majority of sandbox survival games. There are also “first person” racing games that show you inside the car as opposed to the camera being from a viewpoint behind the car.
This blocking seems to be because the Scratch Team thinks that all first person games are violent first person shooters and therefore wants to block every first person game in the hopes of avoiding young kids stumbling upon inappropriate content.
But this blocks out many appropriate projects including:
It's unfair to have so many projects hidden just for this reason. Especially since first person projects tend to be higher quality due to the coding required to create the 1st person perspective.
If you find an inappropriate project, it's just best to report it, not hide a huge quantity of high quality projects just to prevent inappropriate ones coming up.
Someone can always make an inappropriate animation but it doesn't mean “animation” should be blocked in the search.
What are your thoughts?

But this blocks out many appropriate projects including:
- Non-violent first person games - Minecraft style
- Appropriate first person shooter games, like laser tag, paintball or non-graphic unrealistic games; it's perfectly possible to make an FPS that's appropriate for Scratch and not NFE
- First person racing games
- 3D raycaster tests

Exactly! Ridiculous! FPS are only fine if they don't have any very bloody/gory stuff in it! It's making it worse because there are other First Person projects. That's like banning memes because some can be inappropriate but there are also appropriate memes!

Support. There are many ways to make games in first person without it being a shooter. First person doesn't always lead to a shooter game. There are also third person shooter games, but is the word third person blocked? Anyway if the ST is really worried about people finding first person shooters they should just block the word shooter in the search results.

Even if they block “shooter”, there are still many appropriate shooters like the one in my signature as well as laser tag and paintball games that don't involve killing human characters. Support. Support!
What if “first person” actually meant as in story terms, where “I” is used?

Yes! Anything On Scratch Can Be Inappropriate, But There's Also Lots Of Appropriate Stuff, Too! I Support The Suggestion. Exactly! (Removed When Quoted)! That's like banning memes because some can be inappropriate but there are also appropriate memes!

Careful. You might want to watch what you say - you may wind up offending people and/or getting an alert. Exactly! Ridiculous! FPS are only fine if they don't have any very bloody/gory stuff in it! Free speech dude, so pollitically correct these days.Careful. You might want to watch what you say - you may wind up offending people and/or getting an alert. Exactly! Ridiculous! Some of us see things that they don't - and that's perfectly fine.

I support for all the reasons listed in the OP. I wasn't aware of this before but now that i'm aware I think it should be changed. Since shooter or voilent games are already NFE, they don't show up in the search bar anyway so there's no reason to ban First Person titles.

There are plenty of fine first-person games on Scratch, so yeah, I support.

Why not supporting? Is it because it's unnecessary?Careful. You might want to watch what you say - you may wind up offending people and/or getting an alert. Exactly! Ridiculous! The search is there for a reason (as opposed to the ST just asking people to use Google to find projects). Some people might not know there is a filter and think there aren't any first person games on Scratch.

You do realise, though, that Google can come up with a load of rubbish and not what you’re looking for at all? I really agree.
Any category of a project can be inappropriate. Someone can make an inappropriate game, and “game” won't be blocked from search.
And blocking “MLP/My Little Pony” from search simply because part of the fandom is inappropriate makes absolutely no sense, since it's literally a show aimed at kids, and there is still appropriate content about it.
So, why should be block “first person” exactly? “First Person” could also refer to a story being told in first person view (e.g. “Today I got a new computer”).

I seriously thought it was only “FPS” that was blocked. I had no idea it went this far.
First person games are everywhere, and blocking all of them is not really what we want.
And for the FPS's that are perfectly fine, we can also have something where projects deemed FE by the Scratch Team show up in the search results.
