Can I ban certain people from my game? Or is it offensive?

I'm making a multiplayer game and I want it so be safe. So i need to know some things.

Lets say a player called Icyclaw37 (I don't mean to offend you if thats your username) has constantly been being mean and rude. Even after i took her chat away for 3 days she still was being so horrible and mean . I need to know if i can banned her or at least suspend her for a while. Or might it offend her. I have a list that shows everyone who had chat taken away, everyone who got banned, and everyone who got suspended. The list are not meant to be offensive, they just help players a little. Let's say someone called Bluejay67 was friends with someone who had chat taken away and they didn't know. Then when they saw their friend and tried to talk to them Bluejay67 though their friend was afk and waited. Then Bluejay67 gave up and left. She never knew her friend was there but couldn't talk. With the list, she can read it and check and realize that her friend had chat taken away.

While the list is helpful, it can be a little offensive because maybe people will say bad things about them. What do i do?

The motto of Scratch is "Imagine, Program, Share." Also, the Scratchers who you banned could remove the code that bans them, and you banning them could be considered rude.

You are not allowed to ban people from a game. If an user is mean to you, then you should report them or contact the Scratch Team.

That is not allowed, but I personally think it should be allowed. But, just report them or Contact the Scratch Team.

I presume that your game makes use of a cloud chat?
If it is possible to be rude or mean to someone in your game, and someone is, that's actually partially your fault because you have given them the ability to do so.
You need to use a better whitelist.
And no, you can't ban people.

Scratch projects aren't allowed to have chats that allow users to even fit the critera of a ban.

It's not right to ban people from seeing a project, unless it's for a special reason…

It might be different for cloud chats.

You can just report the user for using inappropriate language.

If you use a proper whitelist, it's impossible to be mean or rude. The project should be taken down otherwise!

I had a look at the project, and you don't have a whitelist in your chat, so the project is not permitted on Scratch.

Uh i can't completely eliminate the ability to be mean to people without making it so they can barely chat! I have only a few options! To get rid of chat altogether. To take action. or to remove almost everything from the whitelist so it's impossible to be rude.

Yeah it should be allowed. Being banned from a game is one this, being banned from Scratch is another thing. I mean, what if Icyclaw37 is only rude on my game because she thinks nobody'll catch her ‘cause she knows your not allowed to ban people from games. If banning people were allowed, i could stop Icyclaw37 altogether. Unless she started being rude on another person’s game but i think they'd have the banning system too if you could ban people from your games.

Banning is fine. It must be for good reason though… For example griffpatch's scratcharia game. He has the ability to ban people from joining the multiplayer version of the game by check if there name is in a list full of encrypted names. I think he encrypts it to keep people from seeing who is banned and then getting mad at him for it.

Ok thanks Really helps! Thats what i mean by banning, banning them for being bad on the game and never for revenge.

Banning might be permitted, but it could be rude/embarrassing to other scratchers if you showed the list of banned people.
