Different Tiered Forum Reports
This has been on the back of my mind for a while, so I just decided to finally make it.
What I am suggesting here is that when you go to report something in the forums, you have different options for what type/tier of report you are making. There would be options such as unwanted content, closure/moving, and miscellaneous in a drop-down menu. This way, in the report queue, moderators could filter through types of reports and take care of them.
The idea of this is to make sure that things in the unwanted content category (explicit content, rude speech, ect.) could be taken care of quicker than things like requests for topics to be closed, or stickied.
Possible Questions;
Where would it be by deafualt?
What About Other Types of Reports than Unwanted Content, their priority would be lowered, right?
This suggestion is very much up to interpretation, so if you have ideas or questions, please post them.

There would be an option of “Select Type of Report” or something similar, and it would be there by default. If somebody tried to report without selecting an option, a little message would appear, telling them to select one of the choices.

This likely would be the case, but it is up to the moderators to choose which type of report to check, so they should still be able to get to most of them.

I was thinking of this before.
Support. This'd be better than just a reason.

Support! I'm not a mod, obviously, but I'm sure that it would make forum moderating so much easier.

So like the report system for projects with common reasons then an “other” section?

So, currently when you click the report button on the forums you're greeted with this:

You type in your reason for reporting the post and click submit, after which it is presumably sent off to the scratch team and added to a pile of many other reports. This generally works okay currently, taking only a few hours for the reported comment or thread to be dealt with.
However, the report feature on the forums is used for a variety of purposes: these can be as benign as asking for a thread to be closed but can get really malicious in the case of inappropriate posts and spam links to shady websites from spam bots. As far as I know, all these reports are put into the same category and sorted through without any priorities. Even if there is a priority system, it likely relies on either key words in the message (which isn't very reliable as people can write anything in the box) or the amount of reports a post has received. Because of this, it's likely that malicious posts can skip under the radar for a few hours, during which they can cause damage or start flamewars.
To solve this, I propose a change to the report screen. Above the box there should be a set of buttons showing different types of common problems: Close this Topic, Move this Topic, Request for Merge, Spam, Hurtful Post, Flamewar, Profanity, Commercial Spam, Propose topic to be stickied and Other*. You select the button(s) that describe your reason for reporting and then type an explanation in the box. The scratch team can then filter the reports based on content to ensure that dangerous posts are given high priority. (if anyone can make a mockup, please do)
The only big issue I could see this causing would be longer waiting times for more mundane reports, which is not a major problem as the waiting times for forum reports are generally good, or people using it to spam or cheat the system by giving high priority to mundane reports, in the case of which I'd suggest an alert if a user intentionally abuses the system.

I support this, but how about splitting into 8 categories?
Propose topic to be stickied
Request for Merge
Close this Topic
Spam
Hurtful Post
Flamewar
Profanity
Commercial Spam
I don't think we should have small categories like Necropost and Blockspam, they can go under Spam.

There should also be an ‘Other’ category for those not listed above.

I mentioned that in the original postThat seems reasonable. -snip-
There should also be an ‘Other’ category for those not listed above.
Also actually I think we need some means of separating spam to differentiate between harmless blockspam-type stuff and shady links.

Support if the reason box is still there, below the options list.
If they do update it, they need to add the 3.0 theme at the same time.
