Make Student Accounts Not be Deleted Once the Class is Over
But aren't inappropriate projects forbidden? The thing is, what if the student goes around loving and favoriting inappropriate projects? The teacher would probably need to know what they're seeing.. also, they should remove them being able to see whenever they love or favorite something. This honestly seems pointless and a waste of space, and they also might not want the teacher to know what they view
The projects will be banned anyway, since Scratch is for all ages. So I doubt something like this is going to happen. I don't think accounts should even be restricted unless it's a New Scratcher account.
And I don't see how it's pointless or a waste of space.

It must've been a technical issue; maybe there was a problem with converting student accounts to normal accounts or the ST didn't want to make a new UI. Support. Why would they even do this?

So… say you were a student and all your hard work was deleted? No support.

Why? Please back up your reasoning for giving any amount of support. No support.

I am okay with the teacher of a class being able to turn off access to student accounts in their class if there is a way for the student to access any content they have that is not yet shared. Maybe a link could be sent to a student's email to download an archive of unshared projects.
Not sure the scope of delete, but a teacher should only be able to un-share a student's shared content if it goes against the Community Guidelines.

Because of this, I have an idea-The thing is, what if the student goes around loving and favoriting inappropriate projects? The teacher would probably need to know what they're seeing.. also, they should remove them being able to see whenever they love or favorite something. This honestly seems pointless and a waste of space, and they also might not want the teacher to know what they view
Once the class closes, the account will have to have an email verification - it won't be able to do anything without that. Once that's done, the account can be converted to a New Scratcher/Scratcher account.

Apparently they aren't deleted, they just can't be accessed, and if the class is reopened they can use them again
Still unfair, though
i dont know how to convert my account out of a class, can you help?

Evil Teachers! Support forever!
Note that my IT teacher doesn't use a school acount because they are too much havoc apparently (Or teachers don't agree with Scratch imagining programming and sharing for E-safety reasons).
Anyway, If the class is outright deleted (not just closed and re-opened) the account *should* be granted full permissions but will need E-Mail confirmation and will have the New Scratcher status like the rest of us.
Note that I don't know much about this because I don't have a teacher account, because they require you to request one.

Support but it should not say Student Of: (class) after the class has ended.

I'm definitely supporting this, I would feel disappointed if I discovered something cool on the internet and can only use it for one year. Even if they can create a new account, the student account could've been really famous and that user might be reported for impersonation. Also, I think that teachers don't need to have so much control so as to see all of their students' actions. Teenagers prefer to have secrecy (not only them, also people under 13 years) and I wouldn't like it if that secret was disrupted by someone. Especially if that someone is your teacher.

If you contact the Scratch Team using Contact Us at the bottom of every page, it is possible they will be able to recover your projects. Make sure to tell them the username of your old account and the email used with it. im very sad. i cried after i couldnt log in to my account as the class was over so now i have to start all over again.
