Make Student Accounts Not be Deleted Once the Class is Over

I remember reading on the Scratch Wiki, about a month ago, that student accounts get deleted once the class is over

This, in my opinion, is unfair.

Lets say that a student account got popular. everyone would be so confused when they suddenly left! Sure, they could move accounts, but still! and, I have seen a popular student acc before, so it does happen

What it could be, is when a student account is made, it can ask ‘Do you want this account to be deleted after the class?’ or, an option to move a student account to a new class, such as the next year

Sorry if I seem a bit paranoid, but I know I would get upset if all of my hard work was lost. The student's friends might forever wonder what happened to them

edit: also, they should remove them being able to see whenever they love or favorite something. This honestly seems pointless and a waste of space, and they also might not want the teacher to know what they view

Does this happen? If it does, yeah that's not right. There should be an option to convert student accounts into Scratcher accounts.

I read it on the Scratch Wiki. It might have changed though, but idk.

I honestly have been against this for a while- but haven't complained until now

anyway, I also don't think they should see when they comment. A comment can be very personal, if you know what I mean

For all you know, they could be planning a suprise for the teacher- doing this would disable the suprise!

Support for an option to convert student accounts into regular Scratchers. It's pretty rare for me to see these kinds of accounts, but I think it's only fair that their account can be a normal Scratcher account once their class ends.

I have seen an increasing amount. Some of them quite popular or active. It would be a shame for them to lost it all.

Apparently they aren't deleted, they just can't be accessed, and if the class is reopened they can use them again

101% support. It is really unfair that student accounts are not allowed to log in after the teacher ends the class. All their hard work… gone. I originally made this account for school and I would be extremely upset if this was a student account and I couldn't log back in after the class ended. The biggest reason I would be upset is that I would lose all my projects and would have to remix them to a new account and I would completely lose any unshared projects. I put a ton of hard work into my project Slimeith's quest and if it wasn't for our teacher giving us normal accounts instead of student accounts I would feel that my hard work was for nothing. I am grateful I have this account and I wish that student accounts won't be forced to move accounts or leave Scratch.

Yeah! Like, a young child spent ages on an animation for a topic at their school but they never shared it, and then their account is deleted… SO UNFAIR!

The thing is, what if the student goes around loving and favoriting inappropriate projects? The teacher would probably need to know what they're seeing..
