I honestly don't like a doubt that it is needed.

Uh oh - are you using Internet explorer? We have a lot of work to do to support that I'm afraid. In the meantime, you'll be better off with Firefox or Chrome.

No i'm using chrome sad

I love the idea for the new Scratch, but you should have the picture and the script section the other way round. It also looks too plain: you should add more detail in. I love the idea of working on projects online, but you should have a safe feature so that no-one can see your projects until they're done. Also, you should have a thing so that you can click a button and the project you're working on will go straight on/offline.

Hi!

I'm liking scratch 2.0 so far! When you create stuff you can do more and I think that being able to sort your stuff is pretty cool!

Scratch on!

Hi I think that the costume etc. editor isn't so good because there isn't a color mixer and it's really hard to change colors quickly.

My ideal editor would be the old functions with the new and bacically the same except for that it's vector not bitmap. Anyone with me?

Thank you Scratch Team! So far, I like it though, I hope my feedback helps!

The front page on the original scratch page had new projects which got people who do not get many views some views and in scratch 2.0 I see no section for new projects made by people.

A major issue I have with the new notification system:

If I get a message “MrDaAwesome replied to your comment on DaEpicestAdventureEber”, then I can't go and directly see his reply. The only way I'm going to find it is by going to DaEpicestAdventureEber and scrolling down until I find my comment. On projects by people like Jonzo or Astro947 or whoever, that might well be 3 pages of comments further on.

MY IDEA: Just make it like the 1.4 notification system… Just because something is old doesn't mean it's necessarily BAD or should be changed.

Good point! However, I think there's an autoscroll function that should be working for you, but isn't. When it's working, once you click the link to the project, it scrolls down to the comment, which is a little it highlighted.

Can you tell us what browser / Os you are using? We'll sort it out! I think you'll like this feature - but you can let us know what you think once we get it working for you.

You guys should make an eraser for the pen. at the moment you have to clear the whole thing, which is really annoying.

Okay, let's be honest. I love the new blocks and scripts of 2.0, it's the new drawing program I don't like. The pixels in the old version were fine, but the trouble I'm running into is that if u try to make pointy/ squiggly hair, it winds up as a weird, twisting, worm. If u draw a triangle, it winds up a weird mis-shapen oval. It makes me very upset because I like to draw and animate, and this makes it very hard to do that. The fill tool doesn't seem to work either. I would give anything if it could switch back to bitmap. Any way you could possibly do that? It just makes it very hard to draw when it changes after every pen stroke.

i think there should be a pixel art mode where you can zoom in and create art pixel by pixel because it is hard to do that in the current paint editor.

It would be nice if scratch's costumes were in PNG format instead of SVG…….

How to give helpful suggestions about Scratch: Scratch Design Goals

I haven't read the other pages to see if these questions have already been answered, so I apologize if they have….. First, Greenatic told me that we may be unable to delete messages, as the new server supports unlimited messages. However, this is dysfunctional for many. Even though the new message system organizes by date, the overwhelming amount of messages for some scratchers causes issues when trying to answer them all.It would be a major benefit to many to have a small button available to manually delete messages singly. Secondly, the new vector paint style is interesting, and It's nice that it's never pixelated. However, I found that when in maximum zoom, the format is glitchy, and often erases what's already there… I understand that the scratch team is still working out kinks, and I hope that this may be one of the fixable issues in the beta. I understand that Scratch is meant to be a programming site, not one for art, and I suppose that the paint editor may meet most general needs, as artists may still import. One more issue is that I've heard from many friends on scratch that the site itself, and all it encompasses, has been confusing. Surprisingly, many artists on scratch are considering quitting after the 2.0 alpha is released. All I've found myself able to do is to tell them that this is only a beta. I'd like to know if there are any other ways I can convince those in the scratch community to remain on this website. Thanks, and sorry for the long message! ~TeslaKat

I found similar issues. I'd suggest going to this tutorial-it helped me a lot. http://mv.ezproxy.com.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/projects/10013388/

I Love Scratch 2.0 so far, its really great and a huge improvement!!!
I have been testing everything, and there's only one bug I've seen so far, my galleries didn't carry over properly and the galleries I have on my 2.0 page are different then the ones from the 1.4 page… I deleted one a long time ago in 1.4, but when i came here that gallery still existed and a new one i made didn't exist.
Other than that, I have seen no bugs with 2.0, and it is really awesome!

Great to hear!! Yep we're aware of those glitches and they should get fixed when we release 2.0!

Thanks for the feedback!
*The paint editor is really important. Thanks to all the feedback we've gotten, we've decided it needs a major redesign, which we're starting now.
* Messages - we realize it's a big step to go from deleting to “read / unread” model - but we hope you can easily see which ones have been responded to and which haven't. We're also thinking of adding a way to manually mark messages as read / unread.

We're going to keep updating 2.0 even after the release - so keep the feedback coming! Thanks!

How to give helpful suggestions about Scratch: Scratch Design Goals

Hi, I just have a little bit of feedback and suggestions.
In the paint editor, it would make live a lot easier if there was a few options:
1- turn vector graphics on/off
2- turn auto smooth for pencil tool on/off
Because I was trying to draw some asteroids and kept ending up with circles xD
And also, it would be nice if we could have another tool like the normal draw tool in the old editor, so we can draw pixel art. It would make it a lot easier to draw my sprites with those things. Thanks!
Over all, 2.0 is awesome, with the new cloning and stuff. It has been unbelievably easier making things that require tons of sprites.
