I think that the explore page should use AJAX to switch tabs, instead of using regular links. At first, I was expecting a somewhat immediate response when clicking on the tab, but instead I was forced to switch contextual views while the page takes it's time to refresh.

Thanks! Yeah, I agree. I've filed a bug on a related issue - hopefully we can get this sorted soon.
