Neigh | Solve Everyone's Problems
You should take the current 1.4 stuff and change the mascot of it to the Neigh horse. Then, make the address neigh.mit.edu.
What would this be for? Well, some people don't like the interface…
Great example:
So, yeah. Solve everyone's problems. Make an old website with the older code and give it a lot less servers than the main site. And everyone's happy. Including babothegreat.

But if the Scratch 2.0 website is going to replace the old one, then it's really sad to say this, but I might quit Scratch. Think of all the people you'd disappoint when you replace the old website! Sure, some people like Scratch 2.0 a lot, but some people don't. I like it how it is now: One Scratch 2.0 website, and one Scratch 1.x website.
If the Scratch 2.0 website will replace the Scratch 1.x, I'm really sorry, but I'll quit Scratch. I'm sorry, I just don't like the new Scratch.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Babothegreat

I think it's a bad idea. It might take a while to get used to 2.0's new interface, but once people are adjusted I think they'll really enjoy it. And the few who don't can even continue to use the 1.4 editor and upload their projects from there. Splitting the sites means constantly having to synchronize the databases, splitting moderation time, splitting support time, and even splitting development time. i'm sure everyone likes the idea but i'm not sure how the budget likes it…

They could make Neigh an open-source project from the beginning and Neigh would be an HTML5 version of Scratch 2.0. Then they could allow the “advanced Scratchers” or just people with know-how commit code to the project. Of course, the design would be a little different (more like 1.4 I guess).

Yeah… Uh…. No. People need to move forward and *quote* “stop whining about 2.0.” Once they get used to it, the will love it. It is a complete waste of resources and time to keep the old website. People should stop looking at the bad side of Scratch 2. As for myself, I can't even imagine of ever going back to the old Scratch site, but that is just my opinion.

Sorry guys! It takes a ton of energy to run and maintain just one site, nevermind two. It may seem easy to you guys, but it's not.
When Scratch 2.0 is released, the old site will go dark - that's final I'm afraid.
So: If you or your friends have suggestions on how to improve the beta, by all means share them - as long as they're constructive! We can't fix the pain of transitioning from something old that you are used to something new that you aren't used to yet. But we can make the new thing better - that'll help.

Well, I just wish there was a custom sprite library were you didn't have to see the same freaky cat pony whenever you're diving for a sample sprite. If you don't like it, you needn't use it; it's there for people who will. April fools, huh? It's getting a bit cruel.
