Scratch will be featured as part of Computer Science Education Week (csedweek.org), an initiative to encourage students and teachers to try coding for the first time. We're expecting thousands of people new to Scratch, especially December 5 to 11. You can help by welcoming and answering questions from new Scratchers!


We’re highlighting three awesome activities on the homepage for CS Education Week: Animate Your Name, Make It Fly, & Make Music. We’re also launching a brand new page with 9 Scratch activities. You can learn more about these activities by visiting our Things to Try page.


But there’s more! We’re also collaborating with Cartoon Network on a special “Design Your Own Character” studio, with the help of Rebecca Sugar, the creator of “Steven Universe.” Create an original character and highlight the qualities that make your character unique!
