Limit to how many times people can be featured.

Well..I've seen a few people being featured twice..and even three times. I think it's very unfair on the people who haven't been featured even once. I bet there are hundreds of people who have a couple of followers and amazing projects. There is a curation section, I know, but sometimes the project doesn't get a lot of views even though it's been curated. Maybe there should be a limit of how many times a person could be featured? This may let other Scratchers have that opportunity.

Thanks for reading, I hope you consider, Scratch Team.

EDIT MAY 2018:

I wrote this long ago, so I disagree with some things that I said now.

Now, I think there should just be a limit of about once every 6 months because I've seen people be featured literally twice in two weeks or under.

Fair enough, if it's an “amazing project” but I think what triggered me to write this suggestion was that people were being featured twice in two weeks or something like that, and it generally annoyed me, as that Scratcher would be having tonnes of exposure and it's just another project taking up room for someone who has never been featured.

I agree. Even though they may deserve a second feature, it would allow for more people to get featured.

Yep… maybe the limit could be 2 or 3 features. But what about alt accounts/new accounts?

I think it should be one per person, not one per account.

(please read whole post - this is just my opinion.) Yes - being featured is a good feeling. However, I don't really agree. I think the Scratch Team can feature what they want. However, I would support if the suggestion was that if the ST wanted to feature something it would say “This user has been featured <number> times.” so that the ST could consider that in their choice whether to feature something or not.(this may be already implemented IDK.)

Thanks!

Yes, this would give more people a chance but I don't think it should be one and that's it but maybe increase the time between features to something much longer because scratchers can change a lot and so can their content and they might want to see the “better” content get views.

There is a thread in Show and Tell, also please don't post questions on a thread unless they are related to the original post. Thanks!

I agree. Some people just get too many features.

Being featured gives someone a lot of exposure, which is great! It gives them incentive and motivation as well as appreciation for their work. As the intention of the featured section is to showcase the diversity of the projects created by members of the scratch community, I feel like diversity in the project makers is also important. It's kind of unfair that someone who has been featured loads of times, is taking up a spot where new, unnoticed, but otherwise amazing scratchers could have their work showcased. I wholeheartedly agree with this proposal

I support this! It helps give other people a chance, rather than the same people getting the same exposure over and over!
