Sorry about the title. I wanted to catch your attention.

So, when I first started scratching, 2 years ago, I tried to ignore this.

But now it really annoys me. it's really hard to make Scratch projects in Hebrew.
Why?
Because Scratch's costume editor doesn't let you to type in Hebrew.

It doesn't matter if I use bitmap or vector. I just can't.
My young sister, Tahel901, knows only a bit of English, which means that-
  • She can't make projects in Hebrew
  • I must translate every single comment she gets.
  • And write the instructions for her.
  • And make her feel bad because she can't do these things alone.
So please, support Hebrew!

Another suggestion:
Please add an option to upload fonts (as font files) to Scratch.

EDIT:
Igonre what I said about the comments and the instructions, it's not related to the Hebrew support on the costume editor

Well I am sorry for that. If the Instructions cannot be in Hebrew I support for that to be added, and the comments she gets isn't exactly something that the Scratch Team can fix, but for the stuff inside the project I have faced a few issues about that in vector (with other languages), but they really should add Hebrew in bitmap.

I support for Hebrew to be supported in bitmap, the Instructions.

Well, actually Hebrew IS supported on the instructions, and you are right, Scratch can't fix the comments things :\ I'll edit my post.

I do hope characters in non-English languages can get added because right now that doesn't really convey Scratch's goal of keeping “Scratch a friendly and creative community where people with different backgrounds and interests feel welcome.”

Support for Unicode in costume editor. Why use a legacy method of non-English characters (and they display as Cyrillic) when everyone uses Unicode now?

what the heck are you talking about? Are you talking about a font called Hebrew? Or a language called Hebrew? It's so confusing

Emmm… don't you know Hebrew? It's a language. I don't think there's a font called Hebrew…

I agree. A quick Google search should have cleared that up.

Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore

Please don't ever title a suggestion like that. This is not a shop in desperate need of clients.

Also, I don't know Hebrew and I don't plan on learning it, but Support for adding it to bitmap and vector for those who do have Hebrew as their primary language.

I think they should support the whole of Unicode in most of the fonts within the vector and bitmap editors. Hebrew shouldn't be an exception, all languages should be able to be typed up in my opinion.

Wasn't trying to be rude. It's just unneccicary to make a post title in all caps.

Maybe, but I don't think it shouldn't be ever done. Just because something isn't a shop, doesn't mean it doesn't need all caps. I see no logic there. Here, this is hindering people from learning programming no matter where they live in the world. Scratch is breaking their own ommunity guidlines so I think this is fairly serious, imagine the Scratcher that give up because they can't type text like English speakers can
