The Scratch Standard Library! A community-driven project!

So, I'm starting out this idea, and I laid out the basic concept in this topic: http://scratch.mit.edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/topic/20778/?page=1#post-189978

And the studio is here (comment on it if you'd like to curate):

So basically, I think a collection of re-usable scripts and code for basic mechanics and template game engines should be put together and made easily available.

Some projects I can think of that could be made:
- Player sensor sprite and hitbox set
- Template scrolling engine

I think this would be a great idea.

^Alright I added you to the studio.

Right now it's more of a concept, but this would benefit greatly from community participation (myself included).

Basically I'd imagine it something like this:
either we go searching for Scratch projects, or people come forward and say stuff like “Hey guys! I have this great scrolling code/engine I made as part of X project! Check it out!”, then it gets remixed and tweaked to only have the code functions we want or to be looked at and optimized more then the finalized product is shared in another studio or as part of some ST-run (Scratch team) part of the website.

I accepted the invitation. Yeah that is kinda what I was imagining to. You should put on the page something like “contact us if you would like your code engine to be in this studio. You will receive your name posted on the page.” I will start finding projects for good scripts. In the meantime I will post on the forums and projects to get people to submit.
