There’s definitely a lot more that is wrong with BFDIA continuing, but I’m to lazy to type it all out.

im guessing theyre eventually gonna lead it into smthn idfb adjacent at the very least, i doubt theyre super concerned with continuity tho tbh (sucks cuz so much of the series has an insane amount of attention to detail, especially for setting up things like gags and little lore/story beats, though that has been decreasing over time…), continuing bfdia reads to me as wanting to kinda return back to the style / tone of the older stuff….. again. but much more literally this time around.
also idfb takes place after the same timespan as the real life wait between bfdia5e and the episode itself, itd be a bit of a retcon, especially when you factor in things Sunhill13 mentioned and the way pencil reacts to ruby knowing puffball was eliminated (although you could just wave that aside as a gag) but it also wouldnt be too hard to reason that bfdia did last for a while longer than was ‘previously known’ or whatever, but does still eventually get cancelled and lead into the events of idfb . thats just me kinda making stuff up though, they could end up completely ignoring the seasons existence which would honestly suck, i really love idfb and its setup its so fun and different from everything else going on in the series

oh well… at least I'll probably see Match again next TPoT, and maybe if they're using BFDIA to do the earlier style then TPoT can stop having amnesia about important arcs

Honestly think that with BFDIA continuing, popularity of characters in TPOT that were in BFDIA are going to change by a good portion and vice versa. I think I can take Spongy for instance, since he had the least likes overall in W.O.A.H bunch and has the second-most dislikes (according to the wiki and the dislike extension). This is basically because of the events of BFB 13-14 which caused so much hate against Spongy. I'm really hoping that BFDIA returning can fix back characters in TPOT that were once good in other seasons, like Pin and Tennis Ball.
