We have a couple updates to share with you all:

Backpack feature in the forums

New Explore Page and Search


We’re excited to reveal an improved version of Search on Scratch. This new system does a better job of finding results that are relevant to you - based on the language you speak, and the terms that you are searching for. There are a few ways that we are using this new Search infrastructure:

Search bar: Your searches are now using our new algorithm. You don’t even have to specify whether you’re looking for projects, users, or tags - you can do it all through the search bar! Type in a keyword to the search bar, and your results will show up on the explore page.

Explore page: In order to make sure new projects are seen by the community, we have tweaked the search to show projects made more recently. We also use statistics based on remixes, favorites, and views, to help curate an interesting set of projects to be displayed. The page will also automatically show more projects created in the language you set Scratch to display.

Backpack feature in the forums
You may notice an “Add to Backpack” button next to scratchblocks scripts on the forum - clicking this will add that script to your backpack so you can use it in any of your projects!

Why do projects and comments not load? Is this because Scratch is making lots of updates like these ones? Here's screenshot, projects and comments don't load:



My browser / operating system: Windows 7, Chrome 51.0.2704.103, Flash 22.0 (release 0)

My explore page won't even load now. I don't like this new and “improved” update.

We're thinking of perhaps adding these features in the future!

Nice! The backpack feature will probably used a lot on the Help with Scripts forum!

The new Scratchblocks plugin are appearing black for me on Chrome (unless they have custom colors; and they work on other browsers)

@ceebee I noticed the ST also fixed the booleans so they don't get mixed with reporters.

Oh so that is why I found some changes. Well, I'll Put an update project on my account. Thanks!

So, if I typed “Cats” in the search bar, it would take me to the explore page…?

Yeah, I was just thinking that.

In the next update can you add private messaging and collab system?
